mini gastric bypass
There is a minigastric bypass forum on this site.
Also several on the web.
Not sure of any real advantage of this over the other types. From my understanding the long term results are not impressive. Be sure to check out all the types of surgery available including the duodenal switch. http://www.duodenalswitch.com/index.html
I had the MGB two years ago, have lost 200 pounds, and couldn't be happier with my decision to go with this surgery. You can read all the details on CLOS.net. Also, check out the Yahoo MGB Picture site. I chose this option because of the statistics of shorter surgery and recovery time, the mortality rate is much less than the RNY,the doctors perform ONLY the MGB, and, very importantly for me, because it is reversible if I made a big mistake! Also, if you are self-pay, the cost is much less than other surgeries. I would like to know what research shows that this is not as effective in the long run? I have met or talked with MANY post-ops, and all of them are VERY satisfied with their results. My best advice is research, research, research and make an educated decision after looking into all the options out there. I did, and I am very pleased with my choice. If you have more questions, feel free to contact me.
