Ever since I found out that my Insurance company got the request and that WLS is now closer to being a reality for me, I'm out of control with food! I'm eating triple the amount I did before and making myself sick. At this rate i'm going to be 20lbs, or more, heavier by the time I have WLS. Has anyone else gone through this?

Hello I just wanted to say PLEASE do not beat yourself up over this. Because it will not be your last meal. The only thing is you will not be able to eat as much but you will be able to have most of the dame things you have now. You will only be making better choices. I'm 9 months out and I really feel so much better. There are some things that I would love to have but really try to stay away from. I'm here to help you if I can. So PLEASE be kind to yourself. Hug's

You may want to try to up your protein intake.  It really does work to make you fuller faster.  Give yourself permission to eat (sensibly), but ad a couple of protein shakes to your day in place of meals.  Don't tell yourself you are dieting.  Tell yourself you are on your way to saving your life and that although you can eat a lot, you don't have to.  There won't be much that you can not have for the rest of your life.  Unless your body doesn't like something you will be able to have some down the road.  I think you are having your first episode of "brain hunger".  You may also try writing down everything you are puttiin gin your mouth for one week.  It will surprise you and help a lot.  Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

Oh i think we all have done this in some way or another .....Don't worrie unless your doc makes you lose weight before surgery ...I did the same thing both times i had surgery .....So you are normal i tink it is normal to feel like you will never eat again since you really do not know what to expect fully .....Best of luck  Laura

Hey there! I've gone through the exact same thing. Right before my surgery I was so scared I wouldn't be able to eat normally again (which I don't, but it isn't killing me), I ate every single meal at McDonald's, as that was my favorite fast food place. Now though, I very rarely eat fast food, or even go out to eat as I find it pointless because I can't finish a whole plate of something now. Just think, after your surgery, you won't be able to do what you are doing now, but you will feel better and be healthier! Good luck with your surgery!!
