Has anybody else had problems with not having phones calls returned by them? It has been 2 months of calling and leaving messages and sending emails to find out if they received all of my paper work they needed. No one will return my calls it's as if they just don't want to fool with me.  I am about ready to just settle with not ever getting the surgery, I have been trying for several years to have it done and have to put it aside because of other surgeries I have needed, just knew it would happen this time but hell if the staff  won't return your calls, what t do now.

Just call and ask to speak to Lolita, then if Barbara ask what this concerns tell her to check in the system to see if they have al your paperwork, she has the capability of doing so. If that does not work ask to speak to the supervisor.

Send a certified letter to your surgeon, that will get the ball rolling. Sometimes we have to do this to make people do their jobs. .But the doctor wants to get paid and he will make it happen...Etoria

I think sending them the Certified mail helps and trying to talk to the Supervisor helps too. I too have called and send emails and still nothing, however I am going to give them one more week. Asking Barbara to look in the computer for info has not worked for me knowing my Cardiologis send Report and my Psyc. evaluation was send too and the nutritionist and know they send the evaluation yesterday because they did it in front of my via fax.
I am on a bind as I am unemployed and have so many more weeks of unemployment and school will start soon too for me. What do I do? Pray alot and look and feel uptimist. I am reading other ppls. information from the board and learning and changing what and how I am eating. So!
Keep your chin up look at the future and Do not say You will not have the Surgery as your they only one bringing negativity to your universe.

Love and if you want contact me. I will kick you in the pants

Hi I am from Ga, but had my surgery in Anniston, AL with Dr Bryan Freeman.  I consider some of the Dr's in the Atlanta area, but some of them just seemed too hard to deal with, I never had problems like this.   When they are too busy to call you back, something is wrong.  What will happen after your surgery and you have a problem.   Every time I call his office I get a real live person.  Even though you are in Ga, I highly recommend Dr Freeman.  If I were you I would consider (only a suggestion) finding a new Dr.  Sending a certified letter seems ridiculous if you ask me.   If it feels wrong then it probably is.  There are lots of caring Dr's that are very well qualified....

Don't give up the goal you are seeking it is worth the work, just make sure that you study the road you will take to get there.

Since I have been working in the Healthcare field for over 20 years my experience with patients calling and sending certified letters to the DOCTORS when things do not get done certainly helps. The docotor wants to get paid. Also as being manager in some of the office they look at the money in the back sence while they are curtious to you in your face. But they are human too with bills. There are a lot of insurances out that that does not pay for some services as many of you may know and now that many are losing their jobs the employers are changing there policies and not paying for much of anything and they have that right. That is what happen to me. From one year to the next the policy has change and I had to do things different ly for the insurance to pay for my RNY and it was the change fthat my employer made and they are a big avocate of wellness. I also had to make sure all my documentation was done and I had delivered my paperwork to my surgeon office. Now making a move to another doctor out of state is certainly a personal  choice, but give it all that you can give first if you feel that you want that surgeon to do your procedure, via cert mail or walk in to get the job done. None of us are perfect and in the healthcare field some are busy and some do not take their job seriously as you about your health.

Thanks everyone for your replys I will give them one more chance. It is just so depressing when I started this in November 2007 and just knew that when my pcp finished his letter and I sent it in I would eventually hear something.
I have thought about what would happen if I had the surgery and could not get in touch with any one there it really scares me to not have confidence in the office staff to pass on information to the Drs.
My PCP wants me to change surgeons becausse of this it's just having to start all over again, Oh well I will think long and hard and finally make a decision that I feel comfortable with. Again thank you to every one.

I'm in agreement with getting another physician.  They are in
business to serve you, NOT you chase them.  I was in the medical field for many years approximately 34 years, and something is seriously wrong with their office.  There are
too many GOOD, CARING physicians and staff to accept this
type of service.

Also, if you decide not to have surgery because of this, then
you're not ready.  This is the best thing I've ever done for
myself, and I too almost gave up on it.  My insurance (State of
Georgia  employees) did not cover it, so I dropped my coverage, went on Medicare, and by that time, my original physician quit accepting Medicare......so, I found one who would
accept it, and liked him better than the first one.  God always
works things out for the best, so hang in there and Good Luck.
