Peachree Bariatrics
I will be having my surgery a week from tomorrow (Wed 9/17/08) with Dr. Hobson / Peachtree Bariatrics. (I was there today, actually) I completely believe in their work although I had my issues with the office staff. Once you've gotten insurance approval it's a breeze. Unfortunately until then it's a little more difficult. If you read my blogs you will have better knowledge of this. But basically I couldn't rely on leaving messages. I just had to bug the crap out of them until someone answered me. I believe Shona is the office manager, so try asking for her if you can't get Lolita on the phone. There used to be two surgical coordinators and now it's just Lolita so I'm sure that has alot to do with why it's hard to get a call back. You definitely have to stay on top of them to make sure that things keep moving. But it is well worth it. PM me if you want any more information.

Thank you all for your encouragement I will start calling 2morrow until someone talks to me. I've tried for to long to just give up, i guess I was having a pity party but enough of that. Will let you all know if I finally get through to someone. I am so grateful for having somewhere to turn where there is caring people to encourage each other. again thank you all.

Hi I can't believe that you have been trying to get your paperwork together since 11-2007. I went to my Dr the very first time on May 6th. On May 16th, they (meaning the Dr's office) had all my paper work together and it had been sent to the insurance co that day. Is the delay with PCP or Peach tree? They have one girl that does all that, and she is very easy to get on the phone. On May 29th, Dr's office called and said I was approved. Had my surgery on June 24, It should not be this hard to get someone to call you. There are lots of other caring Dr's in Ga, if you just want to use one in your area. Gosh you can have a baby in 9 months. Just think where you would be by now, if you had not got the run around. Anything I say is just a suggestion and not a reflection on the surgical skills of your Dr....Good luck and will be checking back to see how it goes...

Hey, i had all the test finished by the end of November 2007, then PCP took 7 month to get his letter done had to actually raise hell for him to get it done kept saying he hadn't had time, finally got his letter sent in 2 months ago now the problem is no one at peachtree returns calls or emails that I send to find out if they have even sent it all to Ins.
My problem with finding other drs. is I have medicare and they only pay for surgical center of excellence. I'll keep trying though I actually started trying to have this surgery in 2003 so I have gotten frustrated with the hold ups but will not give up, I seriously need the surgery so I am determined to succeed.

Congrats on your up coming surgery. It is a pain to deal with them. I'm not sure if medicare covers DS, seeing as medicare kinda shortens my list of drs. to go to I am at a stand still but am determined to have the surgery so I will keep trying. I wil keep you in my prayers for your up coming surgery and thanks for your adviice I need to check and see if medicare covers DS and research it more.
