Georgia Girl Thanks for being willing to tell this on here.  My friend & I decided to not use this group. It seemed like too much of a hassle to even get info from them.  We have been talking about this situation  since it was first posted.  While I am sure they are good Dr's.  when they are this busy, it could be a blessing.  If they are so busy that they can't even return calls, then they are too busy...When you need to send your paper work to them by certified mail something is wrong.  To the OP have you ever thought that this was God's way of telling you to seek someone else.   Maybe they are just not right for you.   This is only my comment and is not way a reflection on their surgical skills. 

 

Just had a thought, if I were they OP I would send a link to their office to this post.   It really makes them look bad.  You can't tell me they don't know that there office staff is like they are.

Georgia Girl,  I have already found another Dr. and have had my surgery.   Had no problems like this.   I am so grateful that things just did not seem right when I just tried to get info from this group.  Plus IF I had wanted to use them, when I read all the comments on here, would have changed my mind.  Think that people just see him on TV and think they must be the best there is....and if people think they don't know that their office staff is so hard to deal with..think again  

Sorry to hear about what happened to you.  Several years ago, my sister was in a serious auto accident and was life flighted to Atlanta Medical Center.  While she was there I remember a girl being in ICU and she was there from complications of WLS, and that has stuck in my mind.  Always wished I had looked to see who her Dr was.  My sister was there several weeks and when we left the WLS patient was still there.   So when I tried to just get info from them, I though of that girl and felt like that is not where God wanted me to go.   The Dr I used is not only well qualified, but has had the surgery himself,  but is also a fine christian man first of all.   When I was there my iv messed up and they could not get it back in.  Not only did Dr Freeman come over to the hospital, but his assistant Tim came also.   Would like to be added as one of your friends....if you have room for one more.

Georgia Girl I am so sorry to hear about these issues you had but am glad you were strong enough to make it through the hell you must have been in. I did not know of any law suits againts any of these drs. I am looking at a group of drs. in south carolina that my PCP has referred me to, so maybe as you say it just isn't meant for me to go to peachtree.
I have repeatedly called peachtree and sent emails since posting this thread and still have not heard from them. My husband and myself has discussed the issues with them and I have decided not to use them.
Hearing this has truly scared the crap out of me and  since no one there can return my calls now what would happen if I needed them post op. I want this surgery to save my life not complicate it more.
Thank you so much for sharing this information with me and any others who may not have known that Dr. Duncan has had so may suits against him, seeing as I an 3 hours away from Atlanta I would not have been able to check on any of this myself.

Good grief, people.

 I know I do not post on here very much but I thought this was a place to get information  from others who have been through this surgery and their experiences with drs. the idea that someone who was willing to share their story  would have to edit their replies because of nasty emails is appauling.

Have people forgotten about the freedom of speech. You may not have the same experience as Georgia Girl but the fact that she went through this hell should be shared with others. I know i want to know what others think about the drs. not just the one's who have had good experiences but also the negative also, this is the only way to make and educated decision about  using one dr. over another.

So please people act like adults and do not attack people for having their own opinions even if you do not agree with it no two people or alike nor two surgery outcomes the same.
