Hi!

I had RNY 8 years ago, lost 86 pounds, but never reached goal - far from it, and have lately gained some weight back.  I also have had anemia, and had a metabolic test that showed my metabolism is extremely slow.  I have Aetna and am trying to figure out which procedure is best - Lap Band or DS??  I also need help finding a good doctor
 ...   Please help!!

Thanks!

I am not an expert by any means but It may be better to go to the DS forum and RNY to get some feed back. I have not had any WLS as of yet. I hope in the next 30-45 days I will be on my way though. Anywho.... In the beging I wanted RNY and now after researching WLS  Ithink this the surgery for me. I still have some doubts about WLS period but I've been trying for this long with very little results so why not give this a try. But back to the subject at hand again such the boards on revison and DS or RNY  forums. Good luck!

Lisa, pleeeeeez, before you make any decision on another surgical procedure, take a moment to read some of my magazine articles on the nature and treatment of SELF-SABOTAGE of weight loss!!

That's what my seminar was all about (the one I talk about on my OH Profile blog).

I'll be happy to talk/email with you privately after you've had a chance to read what I'm talking about.

Half of my coaching clients are WLS patients who have begun to GAIN BACK what they lost in the first year post-op. Thinking another surgery is gonna do the trick is no different than going from The Atkins Diet to Pritikin because after a while it "stopped working!"

Once you know how to shutdown that inner sabotage machine,  any weight loss protocol you choose WILL succeed.  Honest.
Lovingly sent,
Lauralyn

Post this on the Revision Board
This is a very common question.

Yes, go to the revision board and the ds board.  I had the ds.  Basically I had it because it was the only surgery I could have.  You can read about that on my profile if you are interested.  However, if you have problems losing weight, the ds is the most statistically successful.
