Travel Agents?
I was burned by my previous agency - they were a mom and pop deal. They still owe me $700, but it would cost more to get that $700 back. He knows what he did... God'll deal with him. (he spent MY commission b/c he was going through personal financial issues - no regards to my own financials). So, to a bigger place I went.
I had a client who once used them and was at the pier in ft.laud wainting to board an Royal Carib ship.. they wouldn't let her board till she paid $800 more since they priced it wrong...It really is a shot in the dark.
I'm from the school that you support local biz's and especially women owned biz's .....not referring to strangers. ANd I just asked her if she realized she was being rude.. .but I guess she doesn't consider that to be... to each his own.

LOL... Don't forget the part where you called me stupid. I guess that's not nasty in the school you're from.
Once you get your quotes from cruisecompete it's important to research the validity and reputation of the companies. It's really not hard to do. A simple better business bureau search and some googling typically does the trick. If you can't find anything using that route, it's better to go with some other company. I'd do the same even if I were considering to go with your travel agency. How is someone, a complete stranger, on a forum online more credible than any of the businesses on cruisecompete? MANY credible travel agencies use cruisecompete. There's horror stories with every company under the sun. The person you are referring to obviously didn't investigate enough, their mistake- not cruisecompete's. That's like blaming myspace for web stalkers and pedophiles. What a joke. Regardless of the travel agent, one should always call the line personally and confirm everything. And to think.... you thought I was stupid. LOL.
Your story sounds fishy because they won't even mail cruise docs without full payment. If you don't have cruise docs you're not getting on the ship regardless of how much you are willing to pay at the port. You and I both know all passengers have to be confirmed and payed in FULL at least 15 days before sailing, otherwise you will NOT get your cruise docs from the CRUISE LINE. What kind of agent are you, anyways? I'm no kind of agent, only a smart traveler. Admit it- you falsified that whole little tale in order to hopefully prove some point you were trying to make.
Just so there's no further confusion as to what you said to me, I'll go ahead and copy and paste so everyone can clearly see the nasty remarks you made. (the top purple line is your last message to me, the center is my reply, your original message is at the bottom).

LOL.. just having to explain to you proves my point........ I guess you don't have many friends...
The port is run by homeland security NOT the cruiseline!!!! The don't have anything to do with the ship! They certainly don't have anything to do with your travel agent or your payments??? If you had not made your payments and don't have your cruuise documents, you won't even be let into the port building! I have been on several cruises and that scenario sounds a little fishy.
I agree if you own a business and are speaking with a potential customer (everyone is a potential customer), you shouldn't be calling them stupid. Not only is that not nice, it is unprofessional.
