New to Obesity Help!!

I am awaiting insurance approval and getting excited. I am a teacher and hope to have the surgery in June. I would appreciate any comunication from those who are waiting or post surgery patients. Welcome Rene.... Make sure to catch the thread down from this one about the May Get together... It will be in Gainesville this upcoming Saturday. It is a good chance to meet alot of others from this GA board who are both pre-op and post-op. You will get hooked on this site I did. I hope everything goes well for you. Just keep on the people you need to get this surgery and don't give up call them until you get a date.

I am a teacher too and had my surgery last June. Even if your date is later in the summer, you should be okay as far as recooperating before school starts back. I know everyone is different, but I would have been able to go back after two weeks. It was nice having the summer! Welcome, Rene!!! hugs, Becky

Welcome Rene, It's good to have you on the board and you'll learn so much from all these wonderful people !! I am a school cafeteria manager in Hoschton. I had my surgery the week before spring break last year. I only took off 3 days from work and then I had the week off. I was back at work after 12 days and I did great. Who is going to do your surgery ? Dr. Proctor did mine and he was great and all of his staff and the hospital staff were so good to me. Good luck and I hope you do get to have your surgery in June. Good Luck to you Rene!! Are you using Obesity Solutions? I had Dr. Richard from that group. He was FABULOUS! AND the Lanier Park Hospital staff were amazing. If that is the group you are using, and you get a nurse named Linda, you are gonna LOVE her...she was the best!!! I wish you all the best and hope everything goes well!! Take Care.
