At what month post op do you start loosing hair? And does everyone loose it? I am keeping mine VERY short until I see what happens, I am 9 weeks post op. Thanks Tammy

A very general guideline that I have read elsewhere is that you may start losing hair around 4 month & should stop/slow down significantly by 9 months. The protein supplements really do help, as does taking regular doses of Biotin. Hope that helps! Amanda 266/186/147 (-80)

Thanks Amanda, where do you get the Biotin? Your pictures look great!! I'm not far from you, I live in Jefferson. Thanks for the info. Tammy Gunter

Tammy, I started losing mine at 2 months out and continued until about 5 months out. The loss has finally stopped (I'm 5 1/4 months out now), but it will be awhile before it starts growing back in. Good luck! Cheryl

As far as losing hair, does it help to take Biotin ahead of time? If not, how much do you take when you begin to lose hair--and is it in the vitamin section? Do you actually get any bald spots--or just thinning hair? Thanks, LMW

I started thinning about 4 months...still lose a few strands on occasion at almost 11 months. I haven't taken any "extra" supplements, just my regular vitamins, etc. Maybe I should as I have very fine hair anyway. It's a royal pain if you already have baby fine hair like I do. Waaaaaa!

Hi Tammy - I am shedding like a dog in the spring-time!! Mine started in the 3rd month. Thankfully I started out with a head full of THICK hair - but it is still alarming. I've started taking Biotin - I got it at CVS. I take 2 caplets a day. The last blood work-up I had done came back great - so I think it is just something that happens. I hope it slows down soon. Good Luck! Carolyn Fulcher RNY 3/8/05 262/187/145
