I gotta rant a little....
(RANT MODE ACTIVATED)
I really, really, REALLY need to sit down, write down the requirements.... dietary, physical, and pharmaceutical, and quit screwing around and just DO IT!
I want a list dangit!!
I want a list of foods that I can eat that I actually like, meet the protein/carb/WHATEVER requirements, and write the times down that I am going to eat them and then when the freekin clock matches that time EAT THAT FOOD!!
(whew... this ranting is hard work)
I need a watch that has multiple alarms on it!! Yea!! .... that's the ticket! When alarm ONE goes off, Do WHAT IS #1 ON THE LIST! How freekin hard is that????
... Alarm 1 = Take my vitamins
... Alarm 2 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 3 = Take the dang B-12!!
... Alarm 4 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 5 = Take my Calcium!
... Alarm 6 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 7 = Eat FOOD ONE!!!
... Alarm 8 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 9 = Exercise!
... Alarm 10 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 11 = Eat Snack ONE!!
... Alarm 12 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 13 = Eat FOOD TWO!!
... Alarm 14 = Drink water!!
... Alarm 15 = Have sex!!
... Alarm 16 = Drink water!!
etc., etc., etc.......
..... I wanna get organized!!!
Does anyone else feel this way??... or has the cheese slipped off my cracker once again.......
(RANT MODE DEACTIVATED)

Wow - I'm surprised you only had "Have sex" on here once. There are MANY days I feel this way. I wish I had someone that would make my meals for me.....make them balanced and remind me of all the "other" things I need to do daily.
I tend to "multi task" myself to death and that leads me to get side tracked easily.
Oh well....I'll figure things out soon enough! (you'd think I'd have it down pat after 19 months...LOL)
HEY MARC
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE FEELING LIKE THAT. EVERYDAY I FORGET SOMETHING MAYBE BECAUSE IM NOT USED TO BEING ON A SCHEDUAL AND HAVING SO MANY THINGS TO DO THAT ARE MANDATORY EVERYDAY. HOPEFULLY THE BOARD WILL HAVE SOME GOOD IDEAS CAUSE IM FREAKIN OUT TOO
BRIDGETTE
THE ALARM THING MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA MARC BUT YOU'LL BE RINGING ALL DAY!

I hear ya man! BTW- You crack me up...every time you post. You have a great sense of humor. Maybe you could invent a WLS patien****ch with the multi alarms. This could be a big thing man...just think the paper-clip guy and the post-it note guy are sitting pretty right now and that could be you...unless of course I steal your idea.

How well I can identify with you! Seems to be truly successful at this life change we need to stop having food as our focus but in order to get in enough nutrition we have to focus on what we eat and how often and how much. Seems a little counter productive sometimes.
I guess like anything else you have to plan ahead to be the most successful!
I wish I could just come to work, hook up to an IV for fluids and just work away and not be bothered by the details. I often get too busy to pay attention to the details, I swear I get too busy to pee!! All this focusing on ME is not at all what I am used to and really hard to do.
I seem to fail everyday at getting enough protein adn fluids, I just have to get a routine down.
So glad to know some others are dealing with the same issues.
Thanks.

Well Marc, All I can say is that I can relate. I felt really overwhelmed for a long time as well. One thing that I can say is that at 2 years out now things have become more natural for me. It is now a habit to take all of my meds in the morning, First I go to the bathroom and then I head for the meds. The fluid intake was something that I really had to work hard at too, but know I get them all in and don't even think about it. THINGS WILL GET EASIER!

BTW great new pic-Keep up the good work.

You are too funny. If I had a watch like that, I'd wind up trying to answer it like it was one of my phones.
I'm glad you posted this though. I've pre-surgery and have been trying to make some of the changes in preparation. I think I'll talk to my surgeon and NUT and see what I can go ahead and try to fit in. So far I've had no trouble giving up the carbonated beverages and the caffiene, but I get sweet cravings like crazy. If sheetrock were sweet, I'd have insulation for walls.
I appreciate the questions you guys on the other side throw out. It helps!!
I know exactly how you feel. I thought I knew about the things I would need to do inside out before my surgery. But I can definitly say this life style change is harder then any diet or anything else my life for that matter. I keep telling myself its worth it. I AM WORTH IT! Remember that YOU are worth all these Alarms. But know I feel your pain!
