Hi everyone: I am not posting this to the plastics board because it is specific to GA people. I have BCBS of GA POS insurance. They paid for my RNY no problem. My doc (Christopher Hart) has released me for plastic (er...reconstructive) surgery. I have also been told by Hart and my PCP that I have a hernia. Any experience with this insurance paying all or some toward a panniculectomy along with the hernia repair? Thanks, Carole T

Hi Carole, No personal experience myself, but my best friend has the same insurance as you. We were just discussing her want and need for plastic surgery just last night. Several months back she attempted to get approval for a TT. She was denied 5 times. They kept asking for more things, and her plastic surgeon kept sending what they asked for, only to be denied each time. She got very frustrated and finally quit trying. She will be 3 years out in March and has lost 249 lbs. Has had a history of cysts under the panni as well as rashes. She is gonna try to get an appt with Dr. Ashraf soon, and see if she has any luck with her. Not trying to discourage you or anything, just letting you know that BCBC of GA POS is very difficult, so be very persistant in your attempts. Hugs, Susan

well my friend has a hernia and what she did was went to the plastics for the hernia repair and he turned it in as that and did the tummy tuck while there ...And she had no problems getting the hernia repair and TT at the same time ......But i think the inital problem has to the the hernia and not the TT ...i am sure it is a play on words that the doc has to do ...But it can be done ......Now i know she got a basic TT nothing fancy and all but still we are the same weight ( actually is a a pound heavier than me LOL ) but she is a size smaller due to a flat tummy !!!
