pain in left rib area?

Hello all,
       Well I had my surgery on Nov 24th, I did pretty good handling the pain and drinks for the past two weeks. On Monday I saw my nut and she allowed me to go to stage 4 of the diet  yippee!
I have been having very sharp pains near the biggest incison area,near my left ribs. I don't see my doctor until the 17th of Dec it will be my first visit with him since my sugery. I've already went from 230lbs pre op to 209lbs in three weeks !  the pain concerns me greatly. is this normal  or should I call my doc ? the pain isn't there all the time,no redness or heat near the site.

I would still call the doc right away...never can be too safe.

I would call the doctor to be safe. Sounds like what happened to me when I pulled a muscle. I did it by throwing up (grape skin got stuck someplace.) and then aggrivated it moving some clothes.

Definitely call your doc for sure, but...This was my largest incision and where all the biggest tools went in and out of. I was warned this would be the most sore and tender area. It took the longest to heal. I would suggest that you ice the area as that really helped me. I called that scar my angry girl, cause it was a very angry incision from the very beginning.

For sure call your Dr.            I was sore on the left side as well for a good six weeks to two months.  The surgeon said it was the main port that they used to remove all the junk out of my body during the surgery.

Double check though!!

Hello all,
     Sorry about the delay of getting back , our area wa**** really hard with the ice storm last fri. I did go to the doctors about the the pain that I was having near my left rib area. My doc said that it was most likely the stiches inside rubbing against  some other inside area. He also said that it could also be "gas"  oh well !  I have been doing great otherwise. I'm now able to eat 1 egg, or chicken,tuna,stage 1 baby food and saltine crackers which tasted heavenly to me LOL
