How long did you take from work?
Hi all,
I'm new around here.
I just got final surgical approval and I'm just waiting for my insurance approval. It's looking like I will have surgery some time in mid-October. My surgeon is pretty laid back about how long they think you should take off work and give a very vague "2-4 weeks".
I have a pretty non-physical job. I do a lot of walking, but no lifting or strenuous activity. I'm thinking about trying to schedule surgery on a Friday, taking the entire next week off, and going back to work the following Tuesday. So, 12 days total. Is that going to be completely un-doable? Doc says this surgery is easier to recover from than a c-section and I was totally back to normal from my cesarean within a week.

Taking time off work depends a lot on your workplace culture and personal needs. Some people feel ready quickly, while others need more recovery time. With remote work becoming common, it's important to distinguish legitimate opportunities from task job scams that promise easy income but deliver nothing. Protecting your stability during transitions is key. Make sure any arrangement you consider is verified and secure. Financial peace of mind supports overall wellbeing. Balance both health and practical planning.
