Where is everybody?
Well, I'm just glad someone was here!
I had Open RNY on April 30th and would gladly answer any questions you might have. I hope you have started your vitamins and protein drinks already. Trust me, it helps. I started a month before my surgery.
I took One Source womens vitamins from Wal Mart. Then I bought samples of all kinds of different protein drinks and drank at least 4 a day. My body was so prepared for surgery it was unbelievable. And I was healing so quick that my staples started to push themselves out before I even got out of the hospital!
What part of Pennsylvania are you in? I have relatives in Eldred (near Bradford) and Reynoldsville.

Well hi there. I'm a post-op geek! I've been a little distracted lately with my geek pursuits (I'm up to my eyeballs in network cable wireless boxes. what heaven!), but I'm here...
Anyway, I had my surgery on May 7th and would be more than happy to provide any information requested, whether it's pre-op, operative or post-op.
It's not my nature to just belch forth with all sorts of information, unless someone wants it, so don't be shy. I pretty much live on the net, so I'm always lurking somewhere.

Yes! Yes, I did have Reflux (GERD) before the surgery
.
That might be the cause. I'm also glad you mentioned you didn't want to eat or drink either. Because that's how I feel most of the time also, I barely have any appitite and I didn't know if that came with the suregery also. It's weird, the things I really want to eat are things that I know will be a while before the doctor will allow me to eat them (ex. corn, baked fish, seafood, apples) so since I can't have those things, I just don't feel like eating at all. I also hate not being able to drink as much liquid at one time as I want, like drinking a nice, big, cold glass of skim milk. The sipping thing is getting on my nerves, I'm always thristy. Have you had these same feelings, will they hopefully past??
S.K.
