Germany bound Sept 2007
We are USAF and moving to Stuttgart in sept. I am trying to figure out if anyone has gone through this process from stuttgart and how hard is it? My current base can not do referrals at this time due to budgets but i already know from my pcm that im a good candidate with a BMI of 50 and other back /leg issues. but i am unsure of the process over in germany. any info would be wonderful for me I am trying to get as much info as i can before i get there to start the process as soon as i can after we get settled.
Thank you

Hi:
I am an Army wife, stationed in Wiesbaden. I had my surgery almost 4 years ago in the states, but I know that WLS is done in Frankfurt and I also believe in Landstuhl. Read some of the other posts on the German forum and you will get lots more info. The referral process will not be any different than in the states. Once you get here and get assigned a pc doc, you can discuss it and ask for a referral from Tricare.
Have you been stationed in Germany before? We love it here, it is a beautiful country with so much to do and see.
Feel free to email me with any questions you have either about WLS or Germany.
Good luck
Cheri
