Protien Sources...
Hey guys.... If all goes well I should have my surgery in July. My question is this, are you all ordering your protien stuff from the states or going on the economy?
The PX here has a horrible selection of stuff, other than Slimfast which has too much sugar I think.
So how are you all getting your protien supplements? Ideas please...
Dear Heather:
The short answer for me is ...from the States... but I get in our commissary "Advant Edge-Carb Control" It has 17 gm of protein, 100 cal, and 0 sugar. They are next to the Slim Fast in many commissaries. I use them for lunch in school (I'm a teacher) when-ever I forget my lunch. Also this weekend I went to England and was able to get them there in the Commissary and had them for breakfast.
I have always hated the smell of food in the morning, so my challenge has been having breakfast. I have solved it with protein shakes. I normally getfrom the brand SYNTRAX, a protein powder called NECTAR. My 2 favorite flavors are Cookies & Cream and Cappuccino. I mixed them with water, but have also mixed them with soy milk. I get them from netrition.com. In fact, I have gotten LOTS of sugar free products from them.
I will be having my 6 month monthversary on June 6th and have lost 114 pounds so far. This has truly changed my life!!!
Take care and have a GREAT surgery experience!!

I order mine from the states as well. My fav is Champion Pure Whey Stack; Banana Scream and Chocolate Cookies and Cream. I also love EAS Precision Proten; Fruit Punch. I found that at the sports store on post in Wiesbaden. Very, very expensive there, though.
It really pays to shop around to find the best price and lowest shipping.
Hope this helps

I have been lucky and been able to get decent protein shake mix in our Power Zone here in Kaiserslautern. I also order from bariatriceating.com. They have some wonderful items which help alot. I also have ordered a few protein bullets to help with the protein department.
Good luck to you with your surgery.

An excellent place to shop and who supports our troops is www.fitnessfirstusa.com. I buy from them because they are cheaper including postage than here in Texas.
