Hi Debbie,
Did you get the info on the support group? I don't have her name, but I can find it if you need it. My email is [email protected]. If you get a chance drop me a line and tell me a little about yourself. Do you live in or near Landstuhl? I live not far from St. Johannnes. Keep me posted on when you have your surgery.

Yep, the situation was about the same for me, less than 2 months total. Way better than what I was looking at in the states. I really liked Dr. Shultz, I go see him tomorrow for a follow up. I am almost 9 months out. I had my surgery on Feb. 14th.
Do you have any info on the support group? I have gone a couple of time and I believe there is a meeting this coming Sat. If you would like more info let me know and I will get it to you. There will be at least 3 of us there that have used Dr. S. so we could answer any questions you have.
Seems like it was around 10 days to get the approval from Tricare. I hope you get your date soon!

Hi Debbie.
I went to see Dr S on June 6th 2007. I finally got the call from tricare on July 5th telling me I was approved. They also gave me my surgery date that day too. So in total it took a month for approval. And from the day of approval to the day of surgery, it was a lil over 2months.

Topic: RE: Help! 1st Appointment Dr Weiner
Hi Terri!
I had my initial appointment with him on October 2nd and I go to have my surgery on the 22nd of this month. The appointment was pretty quick and it took me a little over 2 hours from Stuttgart. Prof. Weiner excpects you do have done some research and he will answer any questions you have. I have even e-mailed him some questions and he has been quick to respond to my e-mails.
I am so anxious to get the RNY!

Congrats on the date! No worries because he is the best in his field! I am almost 7 months out and hope to hit my century mark by the end of the year. My only regret is not doing this sooner!

Hello....My name is Bobby Hunt and I had gastric by pass surgery on 8/27/07. My wife and I are re-locating to Ansbach, Germany from the Augusta, Ga. area this month (actually she is moving next week and I will follow her in December) I have a million questions about living in Germany but one very important one is where is the nearest support group meeting to Ansbach? Any info would be greatly apprciated.
