Hi Sheryl!
I'm in Bitburg! I had my surgery with Dr Weiner on Dec 6. 06, 10 months ago. So far, I have lost 140 lbs and loving it!! I'm 5 pounds under the surgery goal, and still have some more months to go. It has been a great ride and I feel like a new woman.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you want to meet and talk to someone that has been through this before, let's schedule it! I work at Bitburg, but I'm available after 4PM any day.

Have any of you found any good protien drinks/shakes that are carried in the Commissary or PX? Same for protien bars?

Yeah, I heard that shopping there just down right sucks! At least ya'll have somewhere fairly close to shop at. I have met people that travel almost 3-4hrs just to shop here. Crazy I tell you!
But Hey! next time you come down here, we should meet up at the Bx/Px. I'm a stay at home mom, So im up for whatever adult interaction I can get. Of course this is totally up to you. I know there are people that are weary about meeting with folks they've met on the internet.

Actually I go to Ramstein and K-town a lot. The commissaries are a lot better

Hey There! I live in the Ramtein area. I know thats really not in your neck of the woods. But I do know a few people that live in Baumholder. So I go there every so often. So if ya want to get in touch with me, let me know.

You will go in the day before surgery. You will have pre-op tests and bowel prep. There was no pre-registeration at all. You take care of everything the first day you get there and then usually surgery is the following morning. I was so nervous!! I kept wondering if they were going to remember that I was coming. lol

Yeah glad to hear that you making that choice. I too had prof weiner he is a great doctor. I had my surgery in July . I am doing great so far the weightloss has slowed down a bit but I heard it will do that . If you have any questions feel free to ask . I am stationed at spangdahlem afb.
