I'm posting on several boards to get as much response as possible- Thanks!
Hi everyone,
It's been on my mind for a while and I ahve decided to take action. So, I thought I'd put it out there, see what comes back and depending on the response, try to put together set of a comprehensive results. Thanks in advance for your help ( and for not FLAMING me...
!
If you had to take a "written" test to help you understand if you were prepared to deal with, take on, cope with WLS, would you take it? What quetions would be on this test?
If there were a test to help you determine where you needed to improve your skills and habits in order to have a successful WLS, what would be on it?
If there were a test you could take periodically to assess your strengths and weaknesses in your pre- and post-WLS progress, would you use it? What topics would it cover?
if there were a workshop for your "circle of support" to take to help you on your journey, would you ask them to participate? Why or why not? Would this be a one shot deal or a series of workshops?
If there were a test devised to suggest and/or assess which WLS would be most successful for you, would you take it? What questions do you think should definitely be on it?
If there were an assesment you could use to determine if your WLS medical team was a good fit for you, would you use it? What questions would be on it? What info would you "have" to know?
How would you define WLS "success"?
How would you define being "WLS-challenged"?
Thanks again!!!!

Topic: RE: What to see in Germany?
Oh girl. its a lot of places here in Germany. One very good hint, if you want to travel in train go for it on the weekends, For a group up to five is 30 Euros, any destination inside Germany. We are 4 and we took that a lot. Go to Rudeshim ( my spelling is BAD BAD )by car is great. You are clorse to Trier, is a beautiful Roman city.
You are never going to have time to see all the beautiful places , Limburg, Gramisch, etc
take care and have fun

Topic: RE: Dr. Rudolph Weiner Patients
Hi Terri,
We are currently stationed in Baumholder and are Army. The first step you need to take is go and see your PCM about a referral. Make sure you have all of your documentation about previous diets and health issues you are experiencing. It was very easy to get my referral but with you being on the Air Force side of things it may be different for you. You also may want to speak with your patient laision about the referral process since everything passes through them as far as off post appointments go. Even if they are telling you that you are unable to have a referral, bug the heck out of them until you can get one. It only took me a total of 2 months to get all of my appointments done and have a date for surgery (March 6th). I know I called about every other day and I am sure they were very tired of hearing my voice. I wish you the best of luck and you can feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I would love to help you out if I can.

Hi Cheri!
I'm new to Wiesbaden too. It's a different world here but I am making the best of it. My husband is stationed in Dexheim but we live in the Hainerberg area. I would love chat- I have a jillion questions about the procedure. I am trying to get it done while I am here.
Take care,
Stacie

There is so much to do and see- just depends on what you are in the mood to do. I've only been here 2 months and sometimes just drive all over- with no particular place to go. We're trying to get the time to go to Koln soon I heard its beautiful. We live in Wiesbaden and its just as great. There is so much of the city to see. I heard Frankfurt has a 12 story mall you might enjoy if shopping is your thing

Hi Melody,
I know that there are day trips to the Rhine River. Another one thru RTT Travel is an express trip thru Bavaria. That has been my favorite place in Germany so far. I don't know much about the Black Forest. Hope this helps a little.

We are USAF and moving to Stuttgart in sept. I am trying to figure out if anyone has gone through this process from stuttgart and how hard is it? My current base can not do referrals at this time due to budgets but i already know from my pcm that im a good candidate with a BMI of 50 and other back /leg issues. but i am unsure of the process over in germany. any info would be wonderful for me I am trying to get as much info as i can before i get there to start the process as soon as i can after we get settled.
Thank you
