Hi Lynnell! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to your message... things were nutso around here during Christmas. (I did reply to your message, by the way!) Colorado sounds absolutely magical and I've had experience with wild horses. They are, hands down, the most awesome breed on the planet. How are you doing now? I hope everything is going well for you and I look forward to hearing from you! Melissa

Dear Lynell: I had the gartric bypass surgery 20 days ago. I am now doing OK. One of my incisions got infected and I had to return to see a doctor daily for the last week. Finally on Sunday, Dec. 24 the "hole" decided to close, no more bleeding and it's beginning to look much better. I general, I feel very good. I have lost 17 lbs already and food has not been a problem or an issue. I am stilll in liquids and puree until Jan. 10th that I return to Frankfurt to see Dr. Weiner. While I was in the hospital, another lady from Heildelburg was having the gastrict bypass surgery. (Hers was Dec. 7th) I don't remember her name but she worked in the I had a great roommate at the hospital, a lady from Weisbaden. It was wonderful to share this strange experience with someone else experiencing the same strange thing. How are you doing? Are you back at work already? I'm a teacher at the high school, so THANK GOD I don't return to wor****il Jan 8th!!! I don't think I have ever had 5 weeks off in the middle of the school year. My timing for this surgery was fabulous! Why was your surgery in Italy, since you are in Heidelberg? Just curious. Take care of yourself! Merry Christmas! brenda

Hi Lynelle. Nope, I had the bypass surgery. Sounds like you are doing pretty well on the diet tho. I don't know much about the lap band and the diet that goes with it. For the bypass, I had 4 weeks of full liquids and then I could eat anything (within reason LOL) Bypass patients have to limit their carbs and aren't suppose to have sugar. Both of those are suppose to make us sick....some do get sick, I don't. I do know that with the band you won't have the mal-absorbtion issues that we bypassers do. I see you are eating pasta. For a quicker weight loss limit your carbs or make sure you are only using whole grain carbs. Anything white is super processed and truly not good for you.

Hi Carmen, I'm a new lap band patient. The first four weeks I've been told liquid, puree and soft. So far so good but I'm just 9 days post op. I've been eating two tablespoons pasta w/ 8oz broth and 1/2 cup creamed cottage cheese or two tablespoons baby food meat (I pulverized shrimp tonight). Are you a band girl?

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas Eve!!! I got the lap band surgery done in Italy for my Christmas present. I'm 8 days post op. All is going ok but being 49 years old and having battled obesity all my life, I know talking with all of you will help all of us make it through the holidays. I'm not experiencing much pain only ocassional bouts of gas. It's uncomfortable around my left shoulder???? I have so much to say and am so thrilled about tomorrow and tomorrow and then some. My husband and I just bought land in Colorado and will build our ranch for retirement soon and now I'll be about to ride them wild horses!!!! Well, at leas****ch them run by.... So, I'm just moving around this website learning. I've gotten great info already and even ordered from C2L!! I'm looking forward to our new relationship. Thanks for being there for all of US. Merry Christmas Eve, Sincerely, Lynnell from Germany
