i was told by lrmc that even though i have a referral i may have to go back to the states or pay for it myself if the surgeon is only seeing active duty members and if it is not medically related i may have to pay for it myself??. has anyone else had this told to them, if so is it true? anyone know anything on this subject??

Topic: RE: Wiesbaden area?
Hi all, coming to visit Wiesbaden in Sept. Had my surgery in Phoenix Sept 22, 2005. Any luck finding items to eat on the economy? Can you bring Jerky over from the states? Going to be visiting the old stomping grounds for about 8 days including my first beer in a year on my rebirthday at Oktoberfest. Wooohoo. I lived in Wiesbaden 79-82 in Hainerberg. Thanks for any help.

Topic: Canadian wanting to move to Germany!
Hello, Hope someone can help me...I am a high school teacher, as is my husband, and we would love to get a contract to teach in Germany. I am still waiting for my RNY (government red-tape is holding me up) but I will be having it done in Michigan. Anyway, are there any ex-pat teachers out there who know of postings coming up in the future? We were engaged in Stuttgart and stayed in Munich. I loved Germany; would move there in a minute! Thank you, Marcia.

Topic: RE: Lap Band Vs RNY
I am going to try and give you the info the way I understand it.......lapband allows you to eat sugar which is BAD!!!! With Gastric bypass you HAVE to change the way you eat for life. This works better for me cause I want this to be a permenant weight loss. The Band does not allow you to lose as much weight and you may have to go get it adjusted several times. Just read as much as you can . Vitamins for the rest of my life is a great trade off from being able to get heavy again. Danielle 260-160!!!!

Topic: Is your surgeon listed?
I've noticed over time that there are not many German surgeons listed on our site. We are sorry we've not done this sooner! I can use your help. If your surgeon is currently not listed from our drop down please email me [email protected]. I would need the following information. Surgeons name Address Phone Website (if they have one) Do they have a support group? Please take a moment to log into "my account" on the top right of the site and then in the column on the right click on "your surgeon", see if your surgeon is listed on the drop down, if they are not please let me know, if they are please list them and also write how things went for your surgery. We would love your feedback and it will help many other members on our site. Thanks for all your help! Amy Williams OH Staff

Topic: RE: Lap Band Vs RNY
Hello well I have also an RNY. My insurance is not paying for a lapband so I had no other choice but even if i had I would never get a Band . i heard so much bad thinks about it abd I do want to lose weight for sure so the only thing for me was the RNY. Anyway I am a sweet eater so the Lapband would not even be a good idea. If I would be u I would talk to prof. Weiner about your concern and ask him what he think. But Like I said i would not make an Lapband but that is just me .
