Well I have lived in Germany for 2 yrs and I have seen quite a few overweight Germans. Obesity is not just an American problem......I just think we are more successful at making it easy to get that way!!! McDonalds, Burger King, and the billion other fastfood places that line the streets we drive every day. But the problem is definately universal. Tchoos! Danielle

Hello, I can honestly say I have not had one ounce of trouble or any trying times. I know that one thing that has helped me through is my faith in God. I have a great husband (currently deployed), and an awesome group of friends that support me everyday. The only thing I will ask you to watch out for after surgery is the attitudes of some people you thought you knew.........they will change!!! I was friends with alot of people and now they treat me diff. (Not really friends obviously) But anyway the more your confidence grows the more intimidating you seem to people. they don't understand the diff. between confident and ****y. I love myself for the first time in a long time and it shows. I am very happy with all aspects of my life. I can't wait to see life with "eyes wide open". Take care and have faith that it will work out. Never doubt yourself or Dr. Weiners ability to take care of you. And don't doubt Gods ability to love you............ALL the time. With love and encouragement, Danielle 260-168lbs!!

How much German will I need to know? Can you teach me certain phrases for my hospital stay that will help me. I hear that the stay is extensive (5-12 days); so I will more than likely need to make sure I can communicate with the nurses who may know just a little English or none at all. -J

Hallo I had my surgery done in Sachsenhausen by Prof. Weiner on march the 17th 2006. So far I lost about 40Ib from surgery day til today. When I first went to my healt provider I had 10 Ibs more than on surgery day so I lost a total from 50 Ibs since Dec.2005. Tha is ok I guesse but right now I am a lil stuck on my weight. I am not panican becasue I know that is normal for my body to catch up. Well to Prof. Weiner I just can say I felt in love with his careness and sweetness . The whole hospital is really worried to make your stay a nice for you as there can. Everybody is so much full of love and care.Alot of them are also englsh speaking so it really easy to ask for things or ask for infomation ( even that I speak german ) . All Info book you get you will recive in english make sure you ask for the thick info book on your first info appointment sometimes there forget. You can ask all question you have. I had my first appointment not with Prof. Weiner but with his dauther waht I found not a problem she knows almost as much as her dad and she is really careing to.Well everyone who has question or just want to chat drop me an email in my mail box and I will answer. Bye Bye Love Martina Smith
