Hi, I just found this site. I have never even ridden a motorcycle, but my husband got him a Sporster 1200 Custom last year. Of course he had to add all the crome stuff and loud pipes. So we went to the shop on Friday and I saw one. I have been telling him all winter that I was going to buy me one as soon as I have my surgery and start loosing weight. So we found a pearly white Sporster 1200 Custom and I fell in love. Then he saw a Low Rider and it was the exact same color as his 1200. So I told him let's get the Low Rider and I'll ride the older bike and he can ride the Low Rider. So I don't know which way we will go but I should have it Tuesday or Wednesday. Several people have volunteered to teach me. I have driven a 5 speed for years so I don't think I will have any trouble. I've gone to the basement and have been sitting on his. hahahahahaa. I am strong as an ox so I don't think I will have any trouble holding it up. I am just so excited. This surgery is going to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I just wanted to tell somebody. Thanks for listening. Judy

Hey Judy, Congrats on the bike! You'll have a blast riding with him. I have a Sportster and my hubby has a LowRider. They have the same paint job! When we stop at places, people ask if we have his and her bikes. I guess some can't tell that they are two different model bikes. Anyway, I'd like to make a small suggestion if you have this available in your area. Sign up for a MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) class for beginners. Although you might be familiar with riding and are strong, this class gives excellent safety tips and runs you through unusual situations that you need to be aware of before you actually encounter a weird situation out on the road. (Not to mention a reduction in your insurance premiums and in some states waiving the driving part at the DMV). The class I took was made up of people who had never even sat on a bike to experienced riders who came with their spouse for support. Everyone came away learning something they didn't previously know and everyone in my class passed the first time. Best of luck out there and have fun! Lori

That's hubbies plan but I'm not sure. I like riding WITH him. We have a 1200 custom as well, with ALL the chrome, He wants a Road King.

Congratulations! I got my '04 1200 custom last summer and love it. I now have (almost) all the extra stuff on it that I want, and it's so much fun. I'm a short woman so was worried about holding it up, etc. Took the motorcycle through our local vo-tech and passed and got my license. What a blast - have fun and be safe! Jenni
