I bought my first Harley after surgery. Love riding and can't believe I finally fit on a bike! What a thrill.
Hey Sarah,
Not sure if you're asking how long after surgery can you ride again or will you be able to ride again after surgery?
It's best to check what your surgeon's protocol is for when you can ride after surgery. I asked mine at my first post op follow-up which was less than a week after surgery and was told to give it another week, so in less than two weeks I was bombing around town on short rides. I had Lap RNY and the recovery time would probably be longer if you have open or the type of surgery you have (lap band, DS or ?) I got tired quickly for about the first month after surgery so gradually worked up to longer runs. After about 3 1/2 months out I was taking 500-600 mile weekend trips. So far this summer I've traveled over 3000 miles on my Heritage, been to four rallys and have plans for at least three 3 more. Next year planning on riding to Sturgis from here in far No. California so yes, you can ride after surgery!
Good luck on getting your approval and getting back in the saddle!
