Harley Guy From Illinois
Even though the storm went south of us, there won't be any riding for a while. My only hope now is to be able to put on my Santa hat, hop on my bike and deliver some deer jerky to a few friends some time during the month of December to be able to get my December ride in.
'I usually try to get about 10 miles in. This keeps the bike's and my battery charged. Traction is the only thing I really worry about. The pavement must be clear of ice and snow. The cold is bearible. Not really any different than riding a snowmobile.
I look forward to the summer. I'm planning on going to the HOG National in Billings Montana and to Sturgis.
I haven't been in Illinios in years. I lived in Springfield from 66' to 68'. I way just kid in junior high. I would like to check out the old neighborhood some day. I hear that it has really changed. I'm still a Cardinals fan due to living in that area during those years.
The storm went about 150 miles south of us. My friend is a lineman and he is down there putting up powerpoles. About 500 were down. We were lucky. I live in Rugby which is the Geographical Center of North America which usually means we get every winter storm. We have a marker here that marks the geographical center. I think it is a winter storm attractant. If you ever get up this way stop in a have a picture by the marker. It is a little cooler temperature by the marker but it does feel good in summer.
Ride on and keep up the goodwork on the diet.

Hye guys
I did the band in May of 05 and I am down almost 80 pounds. I live in Virginia and I will be doing Sturgis in 06 also. Maybe we can all meet for a bottle of water.
Anybody with any tips or pointers for Sturgis I would love to hear from them. I am a Daytona and Myrtle expert, this will be my first Sturgis trip.
Feel free to email me.
Mark

If your looking for a WILD time stay at one of the campgrounds like the Buffalo Chip. They usually have great bands but also the wildest spot. There are quieter campgrounds to stay. If your a drinker and don't want to ride then stay at one of the wild campgrounds.
I usually don't do much drinking so I visit spots and stay at a quieter location. I enjoy going to The Full Throttle and other large bars. They have a variety of entertainment.
I usually go towards the end of the rally because it is quite as crowded if you want to ride the hills or go to devils tower.
It would be great to meet up.
