Better late than never...right???
With fair season here in Maine what do you all eat at local fair?

I chose french fries & a funnel cake which I shared with the kids.  So much to chose from and so little nutrient value

I went out with fellow teachers after school on Friday and had A BEER!  HEEHEE!!!  It was a Mich Ultra but it's the first one I've had since surgery---that quick, cheap drunk is absolutely true.  We had dinner and the buzz left pretty quick.

I like to make enough to can for the winter.   I usually use Cortland apples but you can also use McIntosh or Empire apples.    I peel and core the apples and cut into quarters.    Put into a heavy stock pot.  Pour a couple cups of water into the bottom and cover.  Simmer until apples are soft and mushy.   Cool slightly and add splenda til desired sweetness. (You can also add cinimmon at this point too if you like it.)   This makes a chunckier applesauce (whichi is the kind I like).     I have also made a smooth applesauce where I just quarter the apples, put in the pot with some water, coo****il soft and mushy and then put the apples (seeds, skins and all) through a food mill.   Once all the apples are squeezed through the food mill add your splenda to your desired sweetness.

Then after your applesause is sweetened I put into pint jars, seal and put in water bath and process for 15-30 min depending on your altitude of where you live.    I have also included a website which gives a lot of information about making homemade applesauce.  Of course they use sugar instead of splenda but you can just substitute.  I am sorry I do not have an exact recipe.  Applesauce is something that I can remember my grandmother, mother and then my mother in law just make every year and there was never a recipe involved.   Good luck and have fun canning.

My favorite winter activity is walking outside when it's not absolutly fridged. when there's not much snow already on the ground and it's just lightly snowing. I feel like i'm walking in a snow globe I LOVE IT.

I've always loved watching ice skating and wanted to but didn't want to be the fat chick who could stay on her feet. so maybe in another 100lbs i'll try that lol. But here's a thought maybe i should start now while i still have a little bit of padding lol.

and i have to agree. i was in the 300's up and down...  and I could not wear a coat till it was fridged. I'm 276 now and FREEZING at 50 degrees lol... think my body is adjusting. although i'm sure i will still have a little bit of that thick nothern skin when it comes down to it..once i re adjust.

kept looking for the threads and couldn't find them

i made my goal assuming that my loss would continue like the first month. WRONG. i'm at 58lbs down since surgery. if i had continued like i was the first month on oct 24 i would be down 90lbs. so obviously that isn't happening. I can't remember what i had put my goal at now.  But i'm gonna put it at being 264. hopefully i make it. i have come to realize even though i'm doing what i'm suposed to my body has a mind of it's own.
