I didnt know this forum was here???
One of my most cherished goals is to be able to ride again. My daughter has a couple of horses. She is 14, and she wants us to be able to go out and enjoy the day together riding.
It will take a long time before that can happen, but, I pray it is before I am too old to climb up on the goofy thing.
When I was a teen we had horses, and I am glad to be able to share the experiences with my daughter. It is a blessing. It teaches her responsibility, and confidence. You should see her ride in the shows and gymkhanas. She is in 4-H, and I would recommend any parent that can do it to get their kids into that program. It has many different clubs, not just livestock, and it is so good for the children to socialize, and gain confidence in themselves.
Anyways, wish me luck, I am going to ride one of these days again...very slow, but, it will be good...lol God bless, Laury
One of my most cherished goals is to ride too and to learn how to ride properly. I have been a horse lover ever since I could remember since childhood. I remember going riding when I was a teenager and loving it. The last time I was on a horse was about ten years ago and needed a step stool
to get on and there were pictures of my big butt trying to get on and everyone thought it was so funny, except me.
I have moved to an area that has lots of farms and horseback riding and look forward to being able to sign up for riding lessons once my weight gets down.

Hi Laury. I wish you the best of wishes to reach your cherished goal to go riding again. I am pre op for a few more weeks, but I still ride my half draft horse. While she carries my weight with no problem, and I can comfortably ride her, I know that we'll both appreciate it when I lose a bunch of weight!
We have 4 horse and are beginning to train 2 of them. I need to be able to pony them and work with them in the round pen and around the farm, and can't do that until some of this weight is off of my poor knees and hips!
Our daughter lives next door and one of the young horses belong to her. She and I ride together as often as we can. Our two riding horses are American Spotted Horses, which are 1/2 Belgian, 1/2 Paint. They are big, gentle and solid. Our younger horses are Paints, which are tall, fast and fleet. Big differences!
You are in my prayers for a successful journey and a lifetime of horses!
God Bless. Ruthanne
