Having owned and ridden horses for most of my life,i have missed having this wonderfull experience in the past 2 years, due to my cir****tances, before surgery, i remember praying that post op , somehow i would be able to get a chance to ride again , since i love it , and its such good exercise! Well in december some folks from church have invited me to come and ride thier horses, they have 11 horses and other than using them 1 a month or so to move cattle , they dont really ride them , so they needed someone with time to ride, what a blessing !!!!!! i try to get over there every chance i get !!! i am now nearly 4 months post op, and down low enough(259) where i can ride, i have been riding about 6 times in january , and look forward to upping that in february! Its so great ! i still have more weight to lose to be able to hop up in the saddle, but at least i can move and ride and not be exhausted ! it feels so great to look over hills in the saddle ! YES it is possible, you can get back up there !!!

Beth, how exciting!! I have my own horse in the pasture and haven't ridden for years due to my high weight and a ruptured disk in my back. I had my surgery in January and am happily anticipating climbing back up into the saddle. Soon!! Enjoy the rides! Susan

Well , i thought its been a few months, and i really should update !!!! in july my lovely husband surprised we with a mare of my own ! shes a gorgeous 4 year old loud chrome-y black and white paint mare, she was sold as grade, but looking at her conformation , i believe shes probobly registered, and im going to look into it and see shes green broke, and i will be working with her, right now, i dont have an arena to ride her in , so i need to pick up a breast collar and a tie down ( i love her but she already dumped me once) and we also picked my step daughter up a pretty little red roan gelding hes 11 1/2 hands so hes not quite pony , and not quite horse .... any how, im back on the saddle , and working with ground manners , neither one leads well, so im treatign them both like un broken horses Beth
