Ok Everyone introduce themselves and tell about your horses
Hi Angie,
Friesian's are also my first love!! The breed is becoming quite popular in my neck of the woods, so my dream of having one is actually a possibility. I would have never thought! Just gotta save those pennies... (and 10's & 20's! )
It's cool to run into another Friesian lover!
Take care,
Lisa (5'9")

Hi Lisa -
I COVET this Friesian site (and drool and dream...lol) I've emailed her (Janna) and will probably meet her at one of the shows in Sept in LA. She's really fabulous and friendly and imports some beautiful horses. She just got back from Holland so I imagine she'll be posting many more in the next week or so. Check out their show schedule cuz they show in Oregon, too.

What fun that this is a sub-category! Hello everyone, my name is Lizzie and I too am a horse freak. I showed hunter/jumpers for most of my youth. Long story short, my major weight gain has taken place over the last five years since two major injuries and subsequent surgeries. I had not owned a horse during that period (sold my QH gelding after the first injury) but I got the bug again last year. As I am about 300lbs give or take, I didn't think I could ride, but I sucked up my pride and bought myself a draft horse! She is actually a Percheron/Paint cross, 4 yrs old, and she is the best horse I have ever owned!!!!! I started her under saddle last fall and now she is a fabulous trail horse. The problem is me with my squishy butt and lousy balance, but I have managed to NOT fall off once...yet. Boy, that's gonna be a hard fall if/when it happens. Here is a link to her website. http://community.webshots.com/user/lizabethanne74
She is such a good sport and I can't wait until I am half my size and she doesn't have to work so hard. (She seems to be fine...but that's a lot of weight to carry...) She has kept me alive over the last year. Given me something to wake up for. I only wish I didn't feel like I was gonna have a damned heart attack the whole time I was working with/grooming her!
BTW I am in the process of getting insurance approval to have open RXY at Barix Clinic in Michigan.
Hi Lizzie!
That's so cool you bought a draft horse!! That has been my thought for many years. For many reasons I could not have a horse, but whenever I thought of myself having one again, it was always a draft cross. They are so awesome! This was way before WLS was in the picture for me. Now when I get another horse I might not have to get a draft cross, but I am so tall and big-boned that I would proabably feel most comfortable on one anyway.
OMG, she is so GORGEOUS!!! Wow!!! What a beautiful mare you have!! I can't stop looking at her, she is so pretty!
Good luck with your approval and surgery! My fingers are crossed for you!
Take care,
Lisa (5'9")

If I can't manage to get a Friesian (my dream for many, many years) then I will get a draft cross. I love that your girl is a paint! She was just gorgeous!
Love that old saying!! Hey, we might not need it for much longer, though eh?
My QH was a little puppy dog. She was so curious! She would follow me anywhere. I miss her like crazy.
Have FUN!
Lisa

Hi Everyone,
My Name is Nicole. I live in Southeast Michigan.
I had a DS on Aug 15th, 2005. Yeah it was like last week. I have already lost 20lbs. As of Aug 24th.
I currently own just one horse. A red bay Thoroughbred Mare named Backfire (we call her Girlie). She is 9 years old and is a ex-racer. She was on the track from the age of 2 till 7 quite a while for a mare. I got her through a rescue group she had severly pideon toed legs. Now they are not so bad thanks to having a phenominal farrier. I'll be honest never was fond of TB's but she is so pretty you can't tell she is one. Yeah I say that and yet I have a good chance of getting a yearling TB/percheron cross soon. I will probably never will ride BF, just mainly because even though I had surgery my weight will always be around 210-230. I am extremely large boned(they dont make scales for it anymore...lol) and alot of muscle. I really dont ever want BF carriing more than 160. So my youngest sister is a fine rider for her at 126lbs(I train her and the horse at the same time, my sis does awsome but BF needs more work alot of track to get out of her). Thus is why I am looking into this other filly who is te*****ally a Warmblood. She is grey bodied with black legs and a black face with a black mane and tail. You don't find horses that color to often. And a nice floaty mover on top of that, could teach her Saddleseat she moves that good. Yes I am a pleasure horse person I love the action of Saddlebreds, Morgans ect. Ok I rambled enough.
