Lipizzaner Stallions & Spanish Riding School of Vienna

OMG - I can't believe that the Spanish Riding School of Vienna is finally coming back on tour in America... it's been 15 years since their last appearance. My wonderful hubby just bought us front row VIP tickets to see them in Columbus, Ohio on the 5th of November... just in time for my 45th birthday!!! Wow.... what a spectacular gift!!! I have always loved Dressage.... but, this is the epitome!!! For all of us that love horses, this is quite an event. I recommend going to see them perform if they are coming to a town somewhere near you... they are quite spectacular. Just had to share, as I am extremely excited (if you couldn't already tell that!?!). I've not be on either of my own horses in 3 or 4 years due to health problems. Now that I've had my surgery, I am expecting to be able to ride again next Spring & can't wait.... of course, age is starting to catch up to me, so I am a little nervous with the thought of getting started back. Hi Jack! Thank you for you wishes... they did come true!!!! It was awsome. I told my hubby that the only thing that would have made the evening any better would have been in they picked me out of the audience to get out there with those fabulous steeds!!!! Wow that sounds like a awesome date to me. I saw the Royal Lipizzaners twice in my life. Once when I was a child and once as a young adult. The riders were like my heros. I hope you both have fun. Cheryl

Karen, that is so wonderful!! I am so happy for you! I wonder if they will make it to Oregon. I doubt it, but will definitely be on the look-out! What a fabulous birthday gift. I, too love dressage. Hi Lisa! Thanks for your well wishes!!! It was absolutely awsome... I had the best time ever. And.... thanks for wishing me well this next Spring! I will have to take things slowly as I haven't ridden for so long and I think that my age is starting to catch up with me where having the "nerve" to ride is concerned... I notice little anxiety attacks when I start to think about things too much. I wasn't afraid of anything or any horse when I was younger!!!! Hey Karen, Sorry for the late post, I am a little behind the times. I JUST SAW THE STALLIONS PERFORM!!!! They were in Tampa Bay last month. THEY ARE AWSOME!!!! I even flew from Minnesota to Flordia just to see them. I was right in the front row. I can't even tell you how wonderful they are. And I love the fact that all but two of the riders were women. I saw the Spanish Riding School in St. Louis  about 25 years ago and I can still close my eyes and see those wonderfull horses and talented riders it is truly one of those things that stays with you forever.
