Topic: RE: Anyone with a saddle too big for sale?
Hi Dana,
You may have already gotten your answer, but hopefully I can offer a suggestion. I just purchased an inexpensive saddle from eBay. I want to learn to ride English & so I bought an 18 inch close contact english saddle with all fittings & a bridle for less than $200. The saddle is not the best, but it will do for now. If I don't like this saddle I haven't invested lots of money. I had surgery on July 31, 2006 & one of my goals was to lose enough weight to ride again.
Hope that helps...best of luck to you!!!!! The surgery saved my life & being able to ride again has been a joy!

Topic: RE: How heavy is too heavy to ride?
Hello there,
THANK YOU for posting this! I signed up right away!
When I weighed only 260lbs (my highest got to 360), I was turned away from a riding stable to take lessons. I was so completely humiliated. It was horrible. It was wonderful to read this. I would like to shove it in thier faces.
I had surgery a little over a year & a half ago so now I would qualify to ride at their barn, but there is no way in heck I would. Finances aren't in a spot where I can take lessons at this time, but I can't wait til I can!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for posting this. It was so good to read and I'm looking forward to getting getting her newletters.
Take care!

Topic: RE: Any Dressage riders who seat changed
I am a Dressage rider but I am pre op for the Lap Band. Have you had your surgery yet?? I want to know how long before I can ride again!!javascript:setMainIcon('confused',15,22)
Thanks for your help!!
Topic: RE: When can I ride after surgery?
Has your surgeon released you to exercise yet?? If not, ask him when you can ride safely... If he has released you to exercise, you may already be okay, but I'd ask!
Hope you're doing well!!
