Hi Matt, I hope you get this message your post was over a year ago maybe you have moved on to another site. I am a woman and love to hunt, deer is my favorite but birds are fun to and it doesn't matter if its ducks, geese, or turkeys its all fun. I have to say that after weight loss surgery hunting is even better than ever.Hunting is such a great sport I can see why you were wondering where all the hunters were! I'm here and i'll stick with ya till later Happy hunting! Dawn, from MN

I have a 2 hunting parkas, zip out liners, way to big for me now. Both are from cebela's, one is brown camo I use for duck hunting the other is blaze orange camo. I believe 5XL for the brown and 6XL for the Orange. Also have insulated camo bibs I believe that are also 5XL. They will keep you warm sitting for hours, sitting in single digit PA weather wind blowing I was the only one of our crew that was comfortable. Make me an offer not doing anyone any good sitting in a box.

Hi All, I live in Northwestern MN and am dealing with a unique situation. I am scheduled for surgery on Sep. 16th, and that is great. I also am going to miss quite a bit of the hunting season, very sad We are in the middle of our early Canada goose season but small game starts the day after my surgery, still sadder And I had to cancel two ND pheasant hunts, sadder yet Did I mention that I have three Black labs that have never even heard of WLS and think I am just being mean, saddest of all But just wait till next year, hopefully, I will be a lean mean shooting machine. Okay, that was a stretch, but I will likely be able to tote more decoys and follow the pooches longer. My shooting....well that may take some other special surgery Anyway, glad to have a board to post on. See ya Boomer

Love hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm from upstate New York, no, not New York City!!!!!!!!!! Many people think that NY is all city. Upstate NY has rolling hills, and offers some of the best hunting in the nation (in my opinion). I hunt everything from rabbits to Deer. I love Turkey hunting, as well as fishing. I have several family members who work farms, so I have ample opportunity to hunt. I also own a small (50 acres) piece of land. It is nestled in a great area, and I have seen a lot of success. I am looking forward to bow season which is just around the corner. Good luck to all.

Good to see fellow hunters in here. I am preop and hopefully will have surgery right after the new year. I love hunting but I am currently just not physically able to sit in a stand or hike to a good spot. I hate it for my son too. He is 12 and just getting into the hunting thing. Maybe this time next year I will be down a bunc of weight and able to hunt like I should.

Female Deer Hunter Here! Hey all. I have been deer hunting with my husband for over 20 years. I really enjoy getting out in the woods without phones, horns, KIDS. Was with my oldest son when he killed his first deer, a buck and my other son's girlfriend when she killed her first, a doe. We own 102 acres in Mo. and i just love it. I haven't had surgery yet and am not sure when i will but if it's during deer season, it's worth not hunting this year and being able to walk to my stand without stopping to catch my breath next year. Stick Bender, Thank you for your reply. Good luck with your surgery. I hope you will be approved soon. I had a hell of a time getting mine approved but in the end consistency and patients paid off. I have been blessed with a great hunting area my family caretakes a 900+ acre estate with 2 private ponds and acre of hard wood rolling hills. We have been letting the smaller bucks go for 5 years now. Two years ago we started seeing a lot of nice bucks. Last rifle season I took a 220# 10 pointer heavy rack 19 1/2" inside spread. That was a great day Thanksgiving 2003. This year I placed my stand and we are in what is called an earn a buck county which means you have to shoot a doe before you are allowed a Buck tag. We also have unlimited tags for antler less deer $12.00 each. 3 years ago we had a case of CWD show up and in 9 southern counties they want to eliminate the entire deer population. They are offering a $200.00 bounty fee. Most hunters won't even participate in the special hunts because the general consensus among hunter is insurance propaganda. The local law SWAT teams are mostly the ones killing off the deer. Luckily I am further north and we don't have to deal with any of that crap. So far this year I have seen many does and two great bucks seem to be the only thing close enough to get a shot at has been less than 90 pounds. I had a medium size baldy come in and i was going to take a shot until I noticed that it had nubbins. Even though I have not shot any thing this season yet I am very happy to at least get out there and enjoy the outdoors again. Rut is coming up very soon here and the bucks are starting rub lines and making scrapes all over. It is getting exciting and I can wait until rut starts. Congrats on your doe. Good luck with getting a surgery date and the rest of the bow season. Pat Manning

Stick Bender, LOL Love the Name I am Pat I had Lap RNY on Sept. 9, 2004 like you I am a huge bow hunter also I was so worried I would not be able to hunt this year. But as luck would have it I was shooting my bow and climbling trees hunting like a pro just two weeks out. I have not been able to hunt this hard in years I am actually hunting about a mile and a half off the road and have made that trek in and out every day for two weeks now. I am not only happy to be hunting again I am also loosing faster than I expected. Man I have a new appreiciation for life and hunting. This has been the best thing that has ever happened in my life and I get giddy just thinking it will only get better. I realize this response is a little slow I assume your already hunting and all is going fine but perhaps you will reply and share your experiences with me. Here's hoping your having a great season so far. Pat Manning 10/9/04 Lap RNY Down 38#
