Shayna Rochel, My name is Penina and I live in Baltimore. I am frum. I am also scheduled for surgery on March 24. What problems have you encountered with kosher foods post op? I understand they give you broth and jello in the hosp, was it hard getting kosher food?? Penina

Hi Penina, I was very fortunate to be in a kosher hospital (pas, bishul and cholov yisroel even) in NY so I B"H didn't have any problems with food being kosher or not. Have you called your hospitals Rabbi chaplain to find out if they can arrange for kosher food for you? They should be able to. Baltimore surely is a big enough city that they have had to provide kosher meals for patients before. If they don't you could try to get in touch with Bikur Cholim in Baltimore and see if they could help you out. They are wonderful. Please feel free to get in touch any time you would like to.
