OT: Update on father in law Issues
A few months ago I posted about Adams dad who lives behind us. He's been up here over a year now. He's from Elkton Ky which is 2 hours away. He bought a 33 ft camper travel trailer and set it up behind us. Said he was happy and satisfied to be around Adam and the kids. A few months ago I posted about him telling his sister and nephew down in Elkton that he hated it up here, was only here cause he thought it was what Adam wanted. He refuses to drive himself around Etown. Its scares him and Etown is not big. Its a small town. But Elkton is smaller. Anyway at that time we talked with him about moving back so he'd be happier, more independent, around more of his family and old friends. He threw a major fit, yelled, cussed, cried, u name it he done it. Swore he'd never go back. We dropped it. I've never been happy with him back there but he's Adams dad so I've tolerated it. I wouldn't want my own parents back there. But thats not the point. Ok, our next door neighbors recently built a huge new garage. I don't know if planning and zoning sent someone out here to inspect it or what but Adam got a letter from planning and zoning about the camper in our back yard, its hooked up on our electric, he has his own phone line. He's on our water. They put a subpump in to our septic when he moved up. Well, I told Adam when they moved him up here that it was illegal. U can't have 2 dwellings on one lot. We have 1 acre. But I'm a woman so what do I know? To make a long story short, he's in violation of all the restrictions on our land. They've given Adam and his dad 30 days to decide if they want to get a attorney and fight to get the restrictions amended or he can move back to Elkton to a apt like we talked about a few months ago. He wouldn't be happy in Etown in a apt cause he won't drive. He's only 63 and fairly healthy. He can drive. He just won't up here. I talked with some attorneys and they all said its pretty hopeless, that Pop will never win against planning and zoning. Pop said yesterday he'd moved back to Elkton. They told him the camper can stay out there no one can live in it permanantly but if he comes to visit he can spend a week or two out there in it. What aggravates me is he's actually looking forward to going home to Elkton after the fit he threw when we brought it up. Oh well. Thought I'd update.
