does anybody have bcbs of michigian and did you have any trouble with them.

Mine was BCBS of IL, PPO version.  If you have online access you can check out your certificate.  Also, just make the call.  You have to tell them which surgery, bypass or band.  Laprascopic.  There will be a code for that.  They will tell you on the phone. 

That is how I started.  I had to have a 5 yr history of obesity.  6mo of Dr. Care for Obesity within a 24 mo period.  BMI over 40 or lower with co-morbidities.

Then came the application packet with the surgeon and all that that entailed.

I have Federal BCBS and had no problems at all!

We have BCBS PPO from VA. I didn't have a problem. I just had to show "some" past diet experience and I used my weigh****cher weigh in booklet.
