Anyone been denied by Medicaid?
I have Cigna and Medicaid as insurance coverage. My Cigna does not have out of network benefits for WLS and wouldnt you know that no one locally is in network.. figures... however I have Ky Medicaid as backup. I was just curious if anyone has ever been denied by Medicaid? Ellen and Dr Husted's office seems confident that Ill be approved but I am just a lil worried. My BMI is 43 and I have no illnesses other than high cholesterol. I would hate to go through the consult and all the testing and 6 mo diet/pcp visits for nothing...

I havent heard of anyone being denied but that doesnt mean they dont. I guess if you dont follow their guidelines as with any other insurance, they probably would. I know of at least 4 or 5 girls in London that had surgery who were on Medicaid and they didnt seem to ever have any problems.

The only time I've ever heard of anyone being denied by Medicaid was if they didn't meet the BMI/Co-morb requirement, or if they didn't complete their 6 month supervised diet.
With your BMI of at least 40, you would qualify without any health problems. Medicaid is probably one of the easiest insurances to get approval with.
