Wow - graveyard out there!
Dina,
This is a slow board. I am retired from DOC and was a sworn law enforcement officer. I know there are many cops out there, so lets hear it from them.
By the way, I dated a dispatcher in Largo, FL for couple years. What crazy hours and stressful work! As a matter of fact, he was a bit over weight!

Marla -
I think it's inevitible for weight gain in a comm center. You sit all day...sometimes for very very long hours and someone invariably either orders out or brings in goodies. The one thing I have noticed about many dispatchers is they are spur of the moment people and not many of them are good at planning out their meals for the day. That was the case with me at least.
I don't know how many people I've seen come in there normal weight only to end up quite overweight...

Hey Judy - I never check this board but just now saw your post! Hopefully they will email you a response. We are on the cusp of dispatching your area for state police. We have gamies that run the Heppner area. Are you still dispatching?
If you want to, check out the dispatchers board here - not busy but maybe we'll spark some life into it. Here is the link: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/member-interests/dispatchers/
