Topic: RE: Anxiety about going back to work!
Dear Misty-
I had my surgery on aug.11 and had major complications with my back also. I have rhabdomyolysis and have been off work 2 months and 3 days. I started back to work on Friday and it was good. I was a mess the day before because I was so nervous. I totally relate to your posting and I will pray that all is well for you at work. Let us know how it turns out. God Bless..... Hello Teresa!
I was a little afraid before my surgery but it had to be done! Ask God to help you with your anxiety's and fears. In life we must go through things that frighten us, and this is one of them for you. I will pray now that you get through it with flying colors and with calmness of nerves. Please breath deep and ask God to take total control and give you PEACE!

I know whatever happens I'll be a happier, healthier person in the long run, so I'm ready
Topic: RE: Hello-I am LPn 27 yrs!!!
YOU WILL DO GREAT!!!! LAP IS MUCH EASIER THAN YOU WILL BELIEVE. I HAD A PREVIOUS ABDOMINAL HERNIEA REPAIR AND IT WAS AWFUL SO I WAS REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THIS SURGERY BUT IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE...TO MY MUCH JOY. JUST DO EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU AND YOU MAKE SURE YOU USE THE MORPHINE PUMP IF YOU NEED IT..THEY HAD TO TELL ME TO USE IT BECAUSE I WASN'T BECAUSE MY STOMACH DIDN'T REALLY HURT, I HAD A HEADACHE FROM BEING THE WEIRD POSITION ON THE TABLE SO LONG AND THEY HAD TO REMIND ME I COULD USE IT FOR ANY TYPE OF PAIN I WAS HAVING., YOU'LL LAUGH AT YOURSELF FOR BEING SO WORRIED ABOUT IT WHEN IT IS ALL DONE. TALK TO YA WHEN YOU ARE ON THE LOSING SIDE, LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING WHEN YOU GET HOME. GOOD LUCK!!! BARB

Topic: RE: Only LPN?
I am a LPN of 37 years and I had a open revision RNY on 7/12/04 and have lost 70 pounds....I am glad to know there are others out there with the same career as I have....
Topic: RE: HELLO ALL YOU LPN'S
Hi!
Welcome to the board! We don't get alot of messages here, but we are a friendly bunch! I have been an LPN for 3 years. I have just started a new job at a family practice clinic and I am loving it. I really miss my twins I took care of in homecare though.
I am married but split up with 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 6. I had my surgery in April and I am down 98 pounds today!
I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) with my surgery. I am also a make up and candle rep for extra dough, so if anybody would like to learn more, you can email me at [email protected]. Good luck to you!

Topic: Anxiety about going back to work!
Hello fellow LPN's or LVN's (CA and TX). I am 5 months post op and 90 lbs down. I have been out of work for almost 2 years due to back problems (spondylolithesis/spondyloarthropathies). Good news is I am not in anymore pain and would really love to go back to work. The funny thing is I am having anxiety over this. I have been out of work so long and I am feeling overwhelmed. I have worked in clinics, dialysis, and home care. I looked around the message boards and seen a lot of you work LTC and have 40 patients! Wow! Just thinking of it makes me have an anxiety attack hehe!
I guess I am just needing advice or maybe I should go see a councilor about this. I am ready to get my life back on track. I have been sheltered and it's time for me to step out but once I get to the door, I turn and run.
Also, has anyone experienced nervous energy after their WLS??
It was nice to meet everyone and I will let everyone know when I take the plung and look for work
Thanks,
Misty
