Topic: RE: HELLO ALL YOU LPN'S
Hi Lisa,
I am not an LPN yet, I won't start nursing school until my son goes to Kindergarten. Congrats on the weight loss. That is fantastic.
I am going to have my surgery on October 15th in Dalton Ga, with Dr Ponce. I hope I am as successful as you. I have 3 boys ages 3, 5, and 7. I am a stay at home mom right now. I used to work for the electric company, but have always enjoyed learning about the medical field. I was a nurses assistant for 2 years in high school, but that was long ago. I am 34 now and have been married 12 years in December. Well, I just wanted to say hi. Take care

Hi,
I'm Lisa.
I've been an LPN for almost 11 years. I have worked geriatrics, pediatrics, E.R., ICU, Med-surg and now I'm in a very busy walk in clinic. I had my surgery in Dec. 2003. I have lost 101 pounds and still have 40-50 that I want to lose.
I am married and have one child of my own and three grown step children.
I enjoy fishing, crafts, singing and just cuttin up.
Let's get to know each other!

Thanks Donna I will need all the good luck I can get with all this school stuff. Glad to hear tht your WLS has gone well. I'm still jumping through all the hoops in order to hopefully get approved for the surgery. LOL. I didn't realize how much time could pass before you could even get an approval. But I have another appt. tomorrow as I said before so maybe it will put me a little closer. Good luck to you too and have fun shopping for a change. I used to love to shop but now I hate it because I can't wear some of the cute things that are out. Can't wait till I can shop again.

Debbie,
Good for you! I want to go back for my RN so bad! Just have a lot of obstacles in my way at the moment. Maybe someday. I had my surgery on April 15th, 2004 and as of today I am down 79 lbs! I went shopping for some clothes over the weekend and had to get size 16 down from a 26! That's the smallest size I've worn in probably 12 years or more! I couldn't be happier! Anyway, welcome to the board and best of luck to you!

Still in the pre stage, see the dietician and physical therapy folks tomorrow and have the psych. eval in Sept. Just wi**** wouldn't take so long to get everything done. Can't wait to be a loser.
God Bless

Hello Barb...congratulations on your upcoming surgery date. You like office nursing huh? I thought about being an office nurse. I have worked in the ER, post-op, recovery room and the last 20 years as a psych LPN. I am presently on disability until after this surgery. While I'm off I'm taking advantage of the RUE program but now that I'm obligated I am not sure it's what I want. I will be eligible for medicare in December and hope to have surgery soon after that. I will keep you in my prayers.
