Got my hospital bill today...

The bill was $8047.80. My insurance (sheet metal local 100)  Paid all of the hopital exspences. My part of the bill- $25.00 to cover the TV and phone.  Man that was the best $25.00 I have spent in my whole life!!!

LOL $25 for a new life...  Not bad!

 WOW!  I'm hoping that my bill will look like that too! I am originally from the Essex area but now live on the Eastern Shore.  I am having Lapband surgery on Feb 6th at St. Agnes. Where in Essex are you? Deb

Deb,       I am right in the heart of Essex. Right down the street from the post office.  I hope your bill looks just as good as well. I had pre-approval for my surgery but nothing feels better than seeing it marked Paid in black and white!!!!

I am still trying to get my breath from seeing mine but I say it was worth it! Hugs Kristen

That's even better than mine, and I thought I got a great deal. My bill was for over $13,000 (not including surgeon and anesthesiologist) and my portion is $525. $500 for hospital, and $25 for phone.  My portion for doctors will be $0, as it is included, so all I had to pay for that was $500 for the program fee.  I thought $1025 was a great deal for this new life.  I'll trade ya? lol.

Wow!  That's fantastic.  St. Agnes made me pre-pay.  I had to send in an estimated $922 Does that sound like standard practice?  I just assumed it was normal.

I was supposed to prepay at GBMC also. I brought it to my last appointment, and they told me to bring it to the hospital with me.  On the morning of my surgery, I had a family "drama" come up, and I got very upset, and a bit disoriented on what to bring to the hospital. I even forgot to have my friend take my "before" pictures. So, I left my money order at home. They allowed me to have surgery, and just billed me.
