Today's Tuesday!!!
As usual, not much time but I figured I had better post before you sent the MSP out looking for me
. We had a fun filled weekend in OC. Got a primo parking space in front of the Princess Bayside on Friday afternoon so you know we didn't move Big Blue until Sunday. Had great seats for the parade from the bed of the truck (I could see over everyone's head) and then we rode the bus to get around the rest of the day to be safe from the party-ers who might be foolish enough to drive. There will be a ton of pictures out on my webshots when I finish getting them uploaded. There are 3 separate albums from the weekend and I'm having trouble getting the pictures sorted out.
Had my 4 year follow up with Mike on the way back yesterday. He was much 'calmer' about my gain (3 pounds up from last year) than I have been. He was pretty stern about reminding me that I have to make better choices. I did my whine about my food intolerances and he said I've got to figure out how to make it work to be successful. So I see a lot of shrimp and crab and fish in my future!!!! All the things that Mr Mo can't eat (due to food allergies .. lol .. go figure). The word of the day is low sugar, low carb, low fat ... ARGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Basic lean protein and veggies .. not so much fruit .. not that I am a big fruit eater. From the beginning when I was having the stricture problems he always likened me to a band-ster and now that his practice is 98% banding rather than RNY ... he said that my intolerances are very much like his band patients experience and he told me the same thing he tells them. I know what I need to do, I just need to stop making excuses and do it!
Today is my only 'real' day in the office this week, so I have been running like crazy all morning trying to get things done. I'll be out at a conference tomorrow and Thursday I will be here but have the day pretty packed with stuff. Then off on Friday. Tentative plans to meet with Heather Mod-I on Friday for lunch, but need to see if I am feeling better. Still battling the sickly sinus thing and looking forward to sleeping all day Friday if I am not better!
No Easter plans. We will probably do stuff around the house/yard if the weather cooperates. Maybe play with Mack the firetruck and start getting him cleaned up for the parade in April.
Gotta run. Hugs & smoochies,
Mo Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Hey Moie!! I figured you were just busy playing catch-up, so no helicopter yet!! Although wouldn't Mr. Mo get excited!!! I'm so glad you had a blast in OC!!! It sounds like a lot of fun!!
Of course, we're always harder on ourselves than our docs are, but we're still afraid of what they're gonna say, which is why I haven't been in longer than I care to admit. All Mike did was tell you what you already knew to do. That's the easy part - the hard part is doing it, I know!!! Talk to Heather about what she can/can't eat. I do a lot of shrimp and krab with a "k" - in fact, today's lunch is krab salad and some cheese. It's a pain that the bad stuff slides down effortlessly, I sure wi**** was the other way around, and I know you do, too!!!
I didn't know the truck had a name yet, but Mack sure is appropriate. Do you even SEE Mr. Mo anymore? I'm sure Mack's his baby!!!
Speaking of - how's Lefty? Happy's getting herself all ready for her first Easter, I bought her a bandana and I'm gonna put some treats in her basket. Of course, Mom said Happy told her she wants some jelly beans, too!!! LOL!!!
If I don't talk to you, have a great weekend and I hope you feel better!
Hugs,
Tia
