So Excited - I am approved!!

So after Pam's post earlier about calling the insurance company yourself I took that advice and called United Healthcare!! As of 6/12 I was approved for RNYYay!!! While I am excited I am a bit frustrated as well because my doctors office did not contact me to tell me this and now it is already two weeks later!!!!!!!! I am going to call my doc's office first thing tomorrow morning. Wohoo!! I only have a few more pre-op tests and then I am done, so I want to get this thing done with and SCHEDULED......OMGosh this is really happening!! Thanks so much for all the well wishes and the good advice to call my Insurance company!! Wohoo!!

April - WOO-HOO!!!  That's awesome!!!  I share your frustration, however, at the fact that it's two weeks later - but you'll probably never know if the delay was the insurance company notifying the surgeon's office or your surgeon's office notifying you.  Sometimes, the folks handling these matters for us forget that although for them, it's a job, it's OUR lives!!!  No matter, though - you are on your way!!!! You've done an amazing job wih your pre-op diet, which will make things much easier for you!!  Keep me posted!! Hugs, Tia

Thanks so much everyone I cant remember the last time I was ever this excited about something. I called my surgeons office this morning and they said after I have my consult with the sleep study doctor (that appt is July 16th) I can schedule it after that, Wow so exciting!!
