okay, here's the deal. i haven't had a bowel movement since friday and it's tuesday already. prior to surgery, i suffered from IBS, so it's unusual for me to be constipated. however, iron and such can do that to me, so that might be the culprit. in any event, i don't feel badly.. yet.
should i call my doctor???
is there something safe i can do??
i'm just not sure how concerned to be.

If you are the least bit concerned, I would call the doctor. Each practice has their own protocol on follow up care/food plan/etc and what you are consuming might make a difference in your bowel habits that another doctor's patient might not have because of their intake.

Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Hi Pam!
I, too, suffered from IBS with constant diarrhea pre-op. The surgery cured that, thank goodness, although I don't know why, nor does my doc.
I know this is a common issue - make sure you're getting enough fluids in, and I know Terry M. swears by flax seed and Kristen by Miralax, but since you're still so new, give the doctor's office a call and see what they say.
Good luck!! Hope this helps!

calcium can also cause constipation plus not having fiber in your diet. my doc told me to use stool softeners. so maybe you could try that. i would be concerned because you shouldn't have all that stuff in you so long! i had/have constipation right now and keep trying different products to keep things moving.

i'm not so sure that i will like it very much if it's every 4 - 5 days.
