Yes, two new transmissions!!!  Isn't that crazy!!!  We were hoping mine was just electrical, but unfortunately it wasn't.  I don't even want to think about how much it would've cost to have someone put it in for me.  My dad is awesome!!

Yes, he is!!!!  Because you probably would've been looking at $4-5 grand for the two.  UGH!!!!

Your Dad deserves an extra piece of pumpkin pie for that!!!!

Hey Dusty!!!!

I'm glad you got the hospital stay info cleared up!!!  I suspected that you were approved for not more than 23 hours, but at least you can stay "overnight" should you feel the need.  Just do what you have to, okay?  Don't rush home too quickly.

A 3 week liquid diet?  YUCK is right!!!  Have they told you what counts as a liquid?  Stupid question, I know, but does that mean full liquids, including protein shakes, etc.?

I'm sorry you've had to go through all of this; however, it does show just how determined you are to make this work!!!  You're my hero!!!!! LOL!!!

Hugs,

Tia

Tia,

Sounds like a good weekend!

Today I'm grateful....

1.  For having another two weeks off of work.  My goal is to get into a work-like schedule so that I'm good and ready to go back to work and have a schedule for all my vits, fluids, and foods.

2.  For my husband going to bed early Friday night which meant he got up early Saturday and got all the laundry done!  WOOHOO!

3.  For only needing to be on soft foods for 3 more days and then I can start introducing regular foods.  WOOHOO!!

Hey Cheeser!!

Yep, a good, but busy weekend!!!  Like everyone, this is a busy time of year anyway, but couple it with the fact that I have a Mom who shops till *I* drop, and it gets downright exhausting!!!

Make sure when you go back to work that you take a variety of things with you so you don't run out of things - canned tuna, oatmeal, ready to drink protein shakes, protein bars, cheese sticks, cottage cheese, yogurt (these last ones provided you have a fridge - if not, put an ice pack in your lunch bag), nuts, etc.

Also, I don't remember what kind of job you have, but if you're chained to your desk like I am, what I found helpful was lining my bottles of water up like little toy soliders staring at me!!  As soon as I drank one, I cracked open the next.  Honestly, you're drinking ALL the time, but that's really the only way that you're going to get your fluids in.  If you wait until you get home from work - well, that's a LOT of water to drink in a short amount of time!!!!

I am loving Mike more and more every time you say what a good job he's doing around the house.  I hereby nickname him, Cheeze Whiz!!!!!!  LOL!!

Hugs,

Tia

LOL!!  How about the Big Cheese...oh wait...that's ME!

I am a Software Test Engineer and am sometimes chained to my desk.  I'm actually going to love those times because it will make my life easier.  When I'm in the lab testing there's a lot of flitting back and forth, so I'll be getting lots more exercise and am hoping that it won't distract me from my more important things like taking vitamins and drinking fluids!!  My backpack (my laptop carrier) is going to be loaded to the hilt with a variety of things for the days I'm in the lab.  I don't have a desk space there so it will be a bit more challenging!

Phew...I'm glad my mom lives 3 1/2 hours away so that I don't have to shop with her.  She says she just got finished with all her shopping - doubtful because she's a shopoholic.  I, myself, prefer to shop online most of the time.  I get frustrated with crowds.
