Well as everyone may have noticed I have been missing for about a week or so. I was feeling really crappy and finally decided to call my doctor. Friday night I was told to go the ER immediately by my surgeon. Well it turns out I had a stricture. No wonder I kept getting sick everytime I ate....DUH!!!! I was so SEVERLY dehydrated they kept me in the hospital untill Monday afternoon. The doctor was able to fix the stricture through an EGD and I am all better now  It is amazing how I felt instantly better!!!! So I was discharged on Monday and *PROMISED* my surgeon that I wouldnt wait so long to call him next time.

But you should be seeing me around a little more now again!!

Hi April!!!

OMG!!!!  I'm so sorry to hear about all of this.  Mo will definitely be able to relate, as she's the Stricture Queen!!!  I'm SO glad you're doing better!!!

I had noticed you were a bit MIA, but honestly thought there was something else going on!!!  Glad to see you back whatever the reason!!!

Hugs,

Tia

Question plz:  Did Dr. Moazz fix your stricture or did a hospital doctor do it?

Glad your better!

Dr Moazzez told me to go to INOVA and was my admitting doctor. However since I wasnt *ALL* the way closed the stricture was fixed in an upper endoscopy done by the Gastroenterologist (sp?) as directed by Dr Moazz. So he personally did not fix the stricture but all orders about my care came directly from him.

Thanks, I was just wondering the way the chain of events took place I was wondering who did the procedure. Hope it did the trick for good, no more trips back.

((( April )))

Happy they got you all fixed up!   As Tia said,I had an esophageal stricture and it took 3 trips to the endo guy for dialation before it got totally fixed up and even now 4 years post stricture and almost 5 years out, I still have an unusually small opening which gives me restriction, but I don't always take the right advantage of it!

You did better than I did with calling the doc.   I waited too long and ended up calling Dr Sofronski at home on a Saturday night .. uhoh ..

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Yes the strictures suck huh? lol Yes he said that my opening is still very small and if in 6 months or so I am still very restricted they may have to go back in and try to dilate me some more. But as for now, I will take full advantage of that restriction!! lol

But yes I am glad to be all fixed up!
