3 THINGS FOR FRIDAY EVE!!!
Well you know me, I pretty much get along with everyone and try to keep the peace as well as keep my mouth shut. You also know that the multiple episodes of drama that have flared up on the board have really put me off and that goes for what has come from ALL parties involved. I've listened, I've given advice, I've pulled people off proverbial ledges, I've asked people to pull posts, and I've told people to just walk away from situations to be the bigger person. As tough as I am, the best thing to do sometimes is IGNORE and avoid an issue as much as it feels better to blurt out a response.
And for everyone, by definition a "clique" is an exclusive circle of friends who are brought together for a common purpose. Frankly, in my opinion, the Maryland Forum is supposed to be one big clique of people who are here to support one another in the commonality that we share called weight loss surgery. Bypass, DS, Sleeve, and Bandsters are not so much different from one another and we all have something to share to help. If people have an issue with someone in the Maryland Forum it should be handled between those involved via PM, email, or some other way that it has no effect on the rest of the Forum. I have invited local lap-band people from private band forums to join the Maryland Forum to only have to apologize to them for bringing them into what seems to become volatile every couple of months.
And yes, I haven't been as active on the board as I used to, but I am not on the computer as much during the day since I was laid off in June. Kylie keeps me very busy during the day and I'm even busier now that I have multiple OB visits during the week with just 3 weeks left until Lacie is here. But, after I network in the band forums, I do pop in a lot to see if there are any newbies or if I can give advice or point someone to another member who can help.
So, in closing, everyone be well, and for God sakes BE NICE!

Well said!! You, perhaps better than anyone on here, know how much this negativity bothered me - as evidenced by the amount of alcohol I consumed in your presence!!! LOL
However, since you DO know me so well and we share so many traits, you also know that I'm the best friend anyone could ask for - caring, thoughtful, loyal and willing to give my last $ to someone in need. We've often spoken of this board in private and why people feel the need to be hurtful, loose in their morals, etc., and we don't get it, nor do we understand the need for people who don't know me to make me their scapegoat! I mean, if you can entrust me with the mind-blowing honor of being your child's Godmother, why shouldn't anyone give me the benefit of the doubt?
Yes, you HAVE done all those things for me - the ledges, the pulling, etc., because that's what you are - a friend who doesn't judge!!!

The negativity has bothered far more than just you, but I understand where you are coming from. All of this just needs to be completely LET GO by everyone so EVERYONE can move on. Bringing all of this up again over and over needs to stop and honestly this thread really did bring it up again in some some form so be prepared if you get any negativity in response. I've pulled many others than just yourself. I just want some peace on the board.

You have to keep in mind that some people are just not worth the stress! Some people are not happy unless they are getting ALL THE ATTENTION and if someone else takes a SMALL part of that attention away they go all POSTAL! (hehe) Those are the ones you want to AVOID, trust me!
As for the cliques, I have seen it. I think you have to be BLIND to have not seen it on this forum but to eachs own. Im way too old for a clique and my Jr High years are long past me. I dont agree with people bashing one another on a public board because that is childish. I have seen some really childish stuff hit this board and its a shame. I dont get involved. I will say that I myself personally dont live under any Dictatorship so nobody tells me who I can and cant talk to. If I like you I like you and if I dont, I dont!!! Bottom line! I will honestly say that it takes A LOT for me to not like someone but there are a few that have been on here that I would not give you two cents for. They are ignorant and self centered and people like that will never be happy. I avoid them. I dont have time for that kind of stuff in my life. I have never blocked someone but if I had to I would.

Thank you, honey!!! I've REALLY enjoyed getting to know you - your personality and honesty blow me away.
When we post get-togethers, either in public, or when Heather M., for example, posts an open invite to her home, it's the same group of people consistently coming together. We have a lot of fun, but I know that Heather's philosophy is "the more, the merrier," so NO ONE is EVER excluded. So yes, I guess, in a way, it IS a clique, but only because some people CHOOSE not to be involved.
Nope, I'm done trying to please EVERYONE and be EVERYONE'S friend - as you said, it's just NOT gonna happen. But I am happy and lucky to call YOU one of them!!

You just keep being yourself and don't sweat the little stuff babe, you are an inspiration (damn i really did spell that lol) to everyone on this board. Keep your friends close and your enemy's closer. I see it this way if somebody doesn't like me it doesn't matter because I have plenty of friends. My best friend 2 years ago called me to borrow a $1,000 for a water bill and with me knowing about his prescription drug problem i told him i would go to the government building to pay it for him and he hung up on me and I haven't heard hide nor hair from him since. It bothered me at first but you know what I am too old to deal with **** like that so I just let it go. I do check in with his sister every now and then to see how he is doing and he did the same thing to his family and here was a guy that was my best friend since i was 17 y/o. So darling let it roll off your face like a raindrop in springtime and have a damn nice day.
