Of course, I'd echo what everyone has said so far and I'd add that although I brought my pillow for the ride home, I used it the whole time as well.  For some reason it gave me a sense of home and comfort.

LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Brandi, don't listen to Heather!!!!!  I'm convinced she snuck one of her Boxer babies into the hospital for her "sense of home and comfort!" LOL!!!!

HAHAHAHA!!!!  Believe me, if that had been possible I would have had my Colby-girl right there with me.  I did however bring a stuffed boxer with me and it sat on the table next to the bed with my CPAP.

Is there an alternative to refried beans?  I'm not fond of them at all.

Well, when you're on the soft food stage, basically, anything you can puree, you can eat.  Obviously, though, you want to concentrate on protein first and foremost - always.

If you like yogurt, Greek yogurt provides the most bang for your buck protein-wise!!  Eaten plain, it tastes like sour cream and can be used the same way, and sweetened with Splenda, it tastes like vanilla yogurt.  I LOVE this stuff and am responsible for pretty much getting the whole board hooked!!!!  LOL!!!!

Ricotta cheese is very versatile, too - you can sweeten it with Splenda and add cocoa or cinnamon for a cannoli-filling like pudding, or you can make it savory by adding garlic, basil, oregano, etc., and then topping it with spaghetti sauce and cheese.  Just be creative!!!

HTH,

Tia
