I have never tried them. I was always to concerned about the sugar in the syrup, even if light. I stick to fresh, frozen, and freeze dried fruit for the most part.

I have not had the fruit in light syrup, however Del Monte makes a brand of fruit I have eaten. I find it in the canned fruit aisle also. It is DelMonte No Sugar Added Fruit. I have seen peaches and pears. Its packed in water instead of syrup therefore eliminating all that sugar. They use Splenda to sweeten it so the sugar content is very low.  The cans I have say..."Formerly Carb Clever" on them also.

I have eaten both the peaches and pears and have not had a dumping issue with either.

This early out in the process it is all trial and error.  Things I could not eat in the beginning are fine now (I don't dump unless I over indulge).  They make the fruit sweetened with Splenda and it's pretty good just start with a little.  It gets easier I promise!!!

Like Steph, I've had the Splenda sweetened fruit.  I can't even tell the difference.  However, given a choice, I usually choose fresh or frozen fruit.

Like Steph also said, it's still all trial and error, so proceed with caution!!  Be aware that something that agrees or disagrees with you the first time, may not the second, so continue to try!!!

Hugs,

I have eaten some fruit in light syrup... HOWEVER,... I rinse them in a colander first.

Funny thing is, I wasn't able to eat fruit prior to surgery. It always gave me ulcers on my tongue, regardless of the fruit and whether it was fresh or canned. So far (KNOCK ON WOOD), I haven't had any issues.

Merry Christmas,
Ren
