Daily Workout!!! THURSDAY ADDITION!!!!
HI All- I am kinda new to this but I need some accountability for exercise to get my bum in gear!! Can anyone write? If so this is my third night of exercise in a row. Took a break from the gym and took my dog for a 35 minute walk around a park with somehills. I feel great and invigorated...so does my dog!1
So I've been on a roll with the exercise.....I managed to do a 14 minute mile on the elliptical last night. I stayed on the elliptical for 15 minutes and then did the treadmill for 15 minutes and then did the arms and abs machines.
One of my early goals is to be able to jog a 10 minute mile and I eventually want to be able to run a 5K. This goal is very close to my heart because I can still remember being 12 years old and crying every morning before school because I couldn't even come close to running the 10 minute mile in gym class. Gym class was torture for me when we had to jog......I even have very vivid memories of being in elementary school and having to jog. The gym teacher would stand at the "finish line" with a stop watch and call out our time. As kids finished the required number of laps they would line up at the finish line. I was always one of the last ones to finish......usually with a few other overweight classmates and the classmates with asthma ( i can still remember their names). I'd always have to walk the last few laps.....and my stomach would hurt....and my legs would hurt......and I'd be gasping for air.....and I'd be fighting back tears. It was humiliating to have your whole class stand there and watch you struggle to finish. ANYWAYS, I'm working on this goal and am damn proud of my 14 minute mile! When I started working out as a post op, I could only do a few minutes on the elliptical before feeling like I was dying. Look at me now!
I went to water aerobics tonight.......tomorrow night is a night OFF from working out because 1. Its FRIDAY and 2. I have a tastefully simple party to go to. We'll see how the party goes......haven't been to one yet as a post op. I made a low-sugar dessert to take so that I don't feel deprived.........got if off the back of a Nabisco Vanilla Wafers box and tweaked it to suit my dietary needs. Its a crushed vanilla cookie crust with a filling of NSA vanilla ice cream mixed with mixed berries and lemon zest and then topped with more crushed cookies. I looks good!
Wow, long post =)

i know exactly how you feel. i was the fat kid in gym class too. remember when we had to take those fitness tests and do the pull ups? I could not even do one! last night i jogged 4 miles an hour for over 5 minutes straight and did that four times. i couldn't believe it. I basically did a 15.75 minute mile. i am not at a 14 minute mile yet but u have inspired me to keep lowering my number.
