If I could dance......

without splitting my stiches I would be doing the happiest dance all over this great state of Maryland right now! NO MORE LOOSE SKIN on my lower body!!! WOOHOO!!! Surgery went very well and if I keep on the way I have been this last week (can't believe it's been  over a week already!) then my four JP drains come out on Friday the 6th and hopefully I'll be cleared to drive. The drains suck but what can I do? They are there for a reason and will be out and a distant memory soon enough. Dr. Khairalla is awesome and I am so happy I decided to go with him for my Plastics. He's been very attentive and worth every penny. My first follow up with him was last Tuesday and the first time I saw the 'new' me. I cried. I never ever knew that I could look that way without the extra skin. It's wierd but in a good way. We are talking about the boob lift for 2010 now. Since this surgery took 7 hours I don't think putting myself under again this year will be good for me plus I'd rather only have to worry about half a wardrobe at a time! LOL
Kelly and April were so great at the hospital on Saturday! Love you two like sisters from another mother! LOL You and all of DC have now seen my new and improved butt!!! LOL Thank you thank you thank you for everything. Without you two and my mom....I would have been in serious trouble!!! My surgeon was exellent but the nighttime staff at GWUH has a lot to be desired. I can't wait to get my comment card. It's not going to be pretty.

I know I've been very absent from the boards since September and hoping now that things are beginning to settle down some I can get back to things that I've had to put on the backburners. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers and good thoughts for my surgery and recovery and for everyone who's been there in support and prayers since I lost my dad in September. It means so much to me. I will try to be back to the OH boards at least more than I have been. I've come a long way in my journey and maybe just maybe I will have a bit of advice or an experience that I can share with someone else. Always pay it back, right?

Well, either it's all the 'good' pain pills talking or I'm really feeling a little nostalgic. LOL I've had a chance tonight to glance at a few posts and good to see people are doing well. All my best to the newbies just starting their journey, people who are on the road and struggling my thoughts and prayers are with you, and for those who are coming to the end of one path and beginning another, it's all part of life and truely an amazing ride! I wouldn't miss a second of it for anything in the world!!!!!!

Sorry this is so long....forgive a girl being on meds and knowing I won't be able to sit for much longer on here. LOL I haven't had a chance to read my PM's yet but will in the next day or two so please bare with my slowness! Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Monday and I wil be checking back in, catching up and reading posts this week. I don't think I'll be back to wor****il the 10th so I have some nice time to rest and recover.

Thank you Heather! So glad the recovery continues to go well. I am fascinated with the whole plastics thing and wonder if I will and, if so, when I will do it.

I know what you mean about getting back to work. Sometimes the routine is just the thing to make you feel "normal" again.

It really is a neat process and part of it I was 100% ready for but the final results surprised me. I guess until you are looking in the mirror you don't really realize the changes. It is fascinating! LOL

Yep, routine does make all the difference. My mom is so sweet and wanted me to stay with her until all the drains were gone and God love her for that but I need my life back now. :-)
